Favorite CDS of the moment: NIN With Teeth(Huge thanks to Lupa!),Snow Patrol(they have two new fans after this weekend),Beck's Guero(thanks to Mary!),and the last Raveonettes record. They have a new CD coming out tomorrow. Mixed feelings CD's: Garbage Let it Bleed(its good but its not amazing) and Arcade Fire's Funeral(very mixed feelings. I should love it because David Bowie raved...but I am on the fence!). Any new music recs that anyone would care to share? Tbone? Anyone?

All the hip teenage girls, they love Arcade Fire, but I haven't really heard them. I like the new Beck a lot, too. Besides Ben Kweller, I'm listening to Hot Hot Heat (sort of Clash-like), Madeleine Peyroux (the French girl who has an initially freaky vocal resemblance to Billie Holiday, even though she's good in her own right), Blonde Redhead, the Hedwig and the Angry Inch tribute album called "Wig in a Box" that has many luminaries on it (some of which I have actually copied for you and will send out soon), and I keep meaning to download that Loretta Lynn record. ("Record," I said, like I'm a granny.) My friend Steve also played me a CD by this woman, Joanna Newsom, who has this freaky little-girl/little-old-lady voice, like if Sarah Vowell could sing, and she plays harp. It sounds bizarre, I know, but it's wonderful. Steve also keeps telling me the Shins are better than I think, but I still don't love them.
I can burn you Arcade Fire. Funny how I follow David Bowie on his music recs. If David Bowie told me to jump off a bridge...would I? LOL
I have only heard a few songs from the shins. I can not remember anything so......that is not too good.
