I am in a Akron state of mind. I went to the University of Akron for college. I always get misty eyed and wistful when it comes to that town. I might have been born in ytown but Akron has my heart. This does not mean that I want to pack my bags and move there. It was just the city that I spent my best and favorite years.

Darling Annie, I really liked Akron. And I like Cleveland, too. Great towns.
I know what you mean. Akron has a special place in my heart, too. All this Batman movie buzz reminds me of Akron. I wrote a paper comparing Akron to Gotham City once. Tt still reminds me of GC--in a really cool kind of way. I used to love driving around downtown Akron late at night. Good times!
Aw, I feel that way whenever I'm in the NYU environs. I get all choked up thinking, "I used to roll cigarettes next to that parking lot. Oh, that's where we used to go for pizza at 2 a.m.!"
There is nothing like your first love for a city. I always get misty eyed when I see my old apartments. So many memories in those dumps! LOL
Mel: Downtown Akron is now the new Cleveland flats. It seems like each building is a bar. Highland square is still great. The houses and neighborhoods have been renovated. I wish it would happen in ytown.
