Check out Self-Styled Siren's post about her favorite movies. The list is exquisite like the lady herself! (photo from the movie Orlando)

She has inspired me to do a mini-list of my personal favorites:
Auntie Mame
Amelie
Gigi
Orlando
Moonstruck
The Philadelphia Story
Tom Jones
The Lion in the Winter
Casino Royale-yes...I really liked it!
Father Goose
all Star Wars movies-personal favs are The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith
Breakfast at Tiffanys, Funny Face,Charade,My Fair Lady and Roman Holiday
To Catch a Thief
Mary Poppins
Godfather I and II
The Killing Fields
Now, Voyager
Harold and Maude
The Quiet Man
The Goodbye Girl
Barefoot in the Park
Pillow Talk
Victor/Victoria
and many many more.

My movie surprise favorites: I love Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Fight Club, and Snatch. I have a sick sense of humor sometimes.
I loved Priscilla Queen of the Desert with a passion.
My favorite teen movies are Sixteen Candles, Better off Dead, Heathers, Ferris Buellers Day Off and Some Kind of Wonderful.
I love Peter Sellers in anything. I love the silly Woody Allen.
I never change the channel if You've Got Mail or Beetlejuice is on. I physically can not do it!

Thanks F for such a great post today! I enjoyed it so much. I plan to print it out and use it as my must see list!

Thank you so much! I love your list too; there's several that I was thinking of when I said I needed a longer list. I can't help noticing you list has one unifying thing: all of these are very high-style movies. Yes, even Trainspotting.

Have you seen Audrey in War & Peace? not the best movie she made, but my favorite performance of hers. Beautiful movie to look at, as well.

Oh Orlando... I haven't seen that one in forever! Love the book, too. But Tilda Swinton was an example of perfect casting, and the movie nicely captures the fluid dreaminess of the book well. Have you seen her in the movie, The Deep End... it's another mesmerizing performance, I think.
