Beautiful gowns, but I absolutely hate that lipstick. Not pretty, not even period (look at Mrs. Siddons! her lips aren't gray!)
But it works so well with the ghostly, Gorey-esque aspect of the show!
It does work with the opening of the show. I have read that Erin O'Conner played Dior's mother. The little boy is supposed to be Dior himself.
I chose the Siddons picture because I felt that was what he might have been influenced by. The opening was like a cross between a Thomas Gainsborough painting and an Edward Gorey drawing.
