Emmy Awards:
So far Glenn Close is my pick for the best dressed. This was a perfect choice for her. It is elegant and shows how physically fit Ms Close is. She usually wears very billowing gowns so this was a huge step for her. Joan should just hand her the golden hanger. No one is going to beat her.
Halle Berry: The dress looks great. The ponytail and earrings are perfect.
Honorable mentions:
Marcia Cross: The dress was fitted to her perfectly.
There is nothing more annoying when the red carpet gown does not fit the celebrity. If you receive a couture gown for free...spring for a tailor.
Anyway...Marcia looked perfect. The jewels were the standouts and the hair/makeup was perfectly executed.
Shannon Elizabeth: You have shocked the hell out of me.
The dress looks like it came off the spring runway. In fact..I am sure it did.
She looks magnificent.
Teri Hatcher:
I am not sure about this dress. It photographed very well.
But there is something about it I do not like.
The necklace: Swoonworthy! It was so good that it propelled her to the honorable mention list.
Jennifer Gardner: The fit was so flattering.
I would have skipped the brooch and did a great necklace instead.
Paula Abdul: Most improved award!
This spot went to Portia last year!
Charlize Theron: Sexy dress with perfect hair and makeup. Points off for shoes.
On the fence:
Eva Langoria: The color was pretty but I just disliked the neckline of the dress. She has done better and this was a disappointment.
Mischa Barton: A great dress that was not flattering on her. There are better dresses out there. What made her choose this one?
Just plain bad:
Portia de Rossi: What happened?
You were doing so good. Bring back the other stylist.
Alisson Hannigan:
It was just not pretty.
Star Jones:
She is not dressing to flatter her new shape. The velvet looked out of place.
Note to Star: Please stop telling Jennifer Love Hewitt that she looks like Audrey Hepburn.
She does not.
Molly Parker: I do not know who she is but there is no excuse for what she wore.
Macy Gray: For a brief second I swore she was Venus Williams....until I saw the dress. Venus would never wear something that ugly.
Macy really tried. I can not kick her while she is down.

Wow, you're right, that was a perfect choice for her. She looks amazing.
Your blog is so beautiful. So many lovely things to look at. I also enjoy how you pair modern fashion with vintage images to show the references. So cool. You have a great eye.
Did I ever tell you that I used to work in a vintage clothing store? It was fun. I always think of clothing in that way now. :-)
A big kiss for you Annie! :-)
I personally like Halle Berry's ponytail and earrings. Ponytails and earrings are alwasys perfect.
Eva Longoria's dress did not flatter her small chest...it looked gapey.
I thought Portia looked nice--well considering she is Portia.
Patricia Heaton looked bad.
I liked Hugh Jackman the best.

Halle Berry's earrings just HAD to be Robert Lee Morris! I have them but in a bit smaller size. I recognized them instantly.
I agree with you on Longoria's dress. It was not her best look. It did not flatter her teeny size at all.
For me the worst allover was Patricia Arquette. The hair was ugly, too retro even for her. And the dress was just downright stupid. She was monochromatic from head to toe, and the hair did not match the dress at all.
But all in all so many of them looked great!
You SO have the eye, Annie. Plus the heart for no kicking while they're down! xoxo
Ugh, I think Star Jones looked like she was wearing a Barney costume.
I LOVED Marcia Cross..how does she get her hair so damn shiny!
And I wish Britney Spears would have taken a cue from Jennifer Garner on how to look elegant during pregnancy...

Okay so I finally got a look at Marcia
Cross' ensemble. Holy cow! She was my own fave of the evening. Just a perfect dress and perfect color choice for her. God. So enviable.
Ooops, forgot: how could Paula Abdul conceivably NOT improve? My god, her look last year was "deranged prom queen." That look only works in horror films.
Hey best friend! I agree with Star wearing ill fitting clothes and I'm so tired of JLH and the Audrey Hepburn comparison. I really loved Felicity Huffman's dress, I think she was a total star!
Kate: Hugs back K! Owning a vintage clothing store is my retirement dream. There was a great vintage clothing store in Akron called the Hidden Pearl. I want something like that store but with more organization.
Paris: Portia looked bad. She was doing so well but had a fashion setback. Loved Halle's Robert Lee Morris earrings.
Cavewoman: Patricia's look was confused. The entire family has a hard time dressing themselves. It is genetics.
M: Macy really tried. She could be most improved next year.
Mel: I think her face looks so haggard because of her weight loss. The too thin look can be so hard on the face and skin. She has aged 20 years. Her necklace was fab though.
I will do research on joan's dress. I will be stunned if it is vintage. I know she wears vintage jewelry but not clothes.
T: Marcia looked great. Perfect kidman-like skin. You nailed it about Hatcher's dress. I just was not crazy for it.
The addict: Star's purple velvet was all wrong for the hot weather and her body. She has not adjusted to her new shape. There are more flattering clothes for curvy women. She has had a great weight loss but we are not seeing it due to the "too tight" clothes. She needs to fire her hubby as her stylist. IMHO-LOL
ParisL: I thought Glenn looked amazing and picture perfect.
Katie: I never thought Paula would improve. I have seen years of bad clothes on her. This was a shock to see. I hope this continues but I do not have that much confidence in her.
Sand: I thought Felicia looked pretty good too. I forgot to mention her. JLH tries so darn hard to get people to say that she is like Audrey Hepburn. I *hated* that TV movie.
