#1 choice for Christmas card 2005:
I have started my holiday card shopping.
I take this task very seriously. I love my cards to be slightly dark & quirky or breathtaking in their beauty.
This one was at a GREAT site called bella muse.
I am on the fence with this one because it might have a limited appreciative audience.
I really can not see me sending this to my boss or members of my family.
Any thoughts? I would love feedback.

Hmm, sweet A. This is one I, personally, would avoid, imagining the responses of my friends on opening it. I guess it addresses both ends of the political spectrum, though ;D, so if that appeals to you, go for it!
LOL!
I might buy a small order and send it the friends that would get a kick out of it.
It just cracks me up!
I think it is hilarious,
But somehow not YOU. I see you with something more lovely as your Holiday card.
This is so very funny! I would send it to everyone in Will's family, because they would all get it, but not to anyone in mine, because they would be confused.
I didn't think it was political—I thought it was a reference to the insanity of the holidays. But I guess that's the problem with humor like this. Without context, people are liable to read into it all kinds of things.
Peej: I have done pretty...but I love a card that stands out!
T: I thought that you would get a kick out of it the most.
i love it!
but when i first glanced at it, i thought it read 'happy handbags...'
now what does that say about me?!
I totally didn't get it. Probably because my city is talking about starting a "thou shalt not kill" campaign due to youth violence. But if you know your audience, then it's fine! Love your blog, by the way
Great twisted humor - can't beat that. I'd send it out, if nothing else as an antidote to all the treacly insincere sentiment that gets passed around by people unthinkingly. Just sending a card lets folks know you are thinking of them, but this way they get the gift of a chuckle, too.
*whisper* I like it a lot. xoxo
I thought it was absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately, I pick my general family cards based on what would fly with my footwashed Baptist Aunt Doris, the world's sweetest Christian lady. And this would confuse the everloving mess out of her, LOL!
My usual solution: the pals get the hip, funny, cynical cards, the family gets the bunnies-in-the-snow.
My all-time favorite card that I sent: a drawing of Gloria Vanderbilt, in all her big-eared denim-wearing costume-jeweled glory, standing on a two-lane highway under a sign that said "Welcome to Excelsis Deo." And the message was, of course, Gloria in Excelsis Deo. Needless to say I didn't send that one to Aunt Doris.
Urban chick: I love the idea of a card that says Happy Handbags!
You are my kind of gal!
Ann: Well...I live in Youngstown Ohio the murder capital of the USA. We have the highest murder rate per capita every year. We have billboards with this commandment on it. It has not stop people from taking people's lives.
Hopefully our new mayor will save our city but I have doubts.
Laura was right! This card did turn political. LOL
Now I want it more!
Thanks A for visiting! Are you a muaer?
Katie: I would have soooooooo sent this to you. We pretty much have the same view on funny.
M: You would have got one too.
F: Last night I got my family safe cards at TJ Maxx. They had a fantastic selection of cards this year.
That Gloria V card was beyond fab. My personal best was a New Yorker cartoon of the Addams Family. The line inside said "I have a dreadful urge to be merry"
I have never topped that one.
Hi Annieytown -- Rochester NY here. I wouldn't be a supporter of the commandment-based solution -- curfews were discusses here, too. Our Xmas card last year was an Oscar Wilde quotation -- something like "anything that makes you happy is ok with me." But...said cleverly. Can't remember. Yes, I was on MUA as Note -- resigned my membership a while ago, but I still look at your blog -- I like to see the art juxtaposed with the fashion. =)
A: I remember you on MUA! It seems like all the good ones are always leaving. I am glad that you visit here. I am long overdue for a good fashion post. I think I have some type of writing block. I hope to get inspired this weekend!
I have not heard any good solutions about curbing crime in ytown. Everyone keeps saying "zero tolerance" to crime...but no one wants to pass a levy to fund the jails.
The Oscar Wilde cards sounds wonderful. I hope I get lucky this year and find an amazing holiday card.
*crosses fingers*
