I also love R&R t-shirts with a blazer or structured jacket.
I think Lara Flynn Boyle kind pioneered this look for the Hollywood crowd at an awards show a few years ago. Do you remember the one?
I feel weird saying Lara Flynn Boyle pioneered something in the realm of fashion because most of the time she just plain creeps me out--but I do think she deserves the t-shirt/jacket credit.

Cool! This is, though, pretty much a typical everyday work outfit for me and half the girls in New York, so I don't know if it's groundbreaking.

I think she did that at the Golden Globes or maybe it was the Emmys. I remember it. I thought it was funny that vintage concert t-shirts were so hip and expensive.
They were available & easy to find in Ohio at Goodwill and festivals.
