Blogdorf Goodman is a mishmash of beauty product reviews, musings on fashion and swooning over fragrances.

I have been meaning to dish about February's Vogue.
I was not crazy about it. The ads were pretty uninspiring. I was bored by most of the articles with the exception of "Wild on Moscow", "Gilt by Association"(about Lucien Lelong), and "Posh Ponytail".
Here are some highlights:

1. Versace ad with Halle Berry on page 60. 100% improvement from Madonna and Demi Moore. Still no match for the fab Kate Moss campaign from several years back.
2. Naomi Campbell travels with 9 international cell phones and Knorrs seasonings.
3. Marc Jacobs recommends a bath with raw ginger shavings to beat jet lag.
4. Andre Leon Talley considers excessive Blackberrying rude.
5. Naomi Campbell calls Andre Leon Talley....Professor Higgins. He has no idea why.
6. Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant have one amazing art collection! They are all over my Basquiat book and loaned out their Warhol's Last Supper for Samantha Boardman's wedding reception. I know that I should have been "dazzled" by the wedding details...but I was not. They served white castle size square hamburgers made of Kobe beef, foie gras or tuna.
They must be so witty.
7. Vera Wang has a lingerie line. It is priced below $300.
8. For the NYCers: A Lucien Lelong exhibit is opening at FIT on February 28th. I really really really want to go.
9. The Kal Ruttenstein article should have been better.
Loved Marc Jacob's memories of him. I wish he would have wrote the article.
10. Pink Poodle by MAC
11. Prada suitcase page 184
12. Libertine red box coat with Swarovski rose print back on page 186.
13. Lamberston Truex snow white Doctor's bag page 187.
14. Rachel Riley's light fixture on page 227. I saw a great pink one in Cleveland. Will post the picture soon.
15. For Parisjasmal: "A ponytail is a great way to looked pulled together. There is something sexy, soft, very healthy about it"

On page 237 is when Vogue turns unexpectedly into Lucky/Shop. I do not know how I feel about this. Cavewoman stated that this entire issue looked like "no one was in the office that day".
It looks like an identity crisis. I really wished they had looked toward French or British Vogue for inspiration.
I hope March is better. Natalie Portman is on the cover.

Annie ... First let me thank you ... sincerly ... for your visit and comment ... I didn't think you ever read my blog!

Second ... I did a picture with Drew a million years ago when she was just a child ... One night we took her to Barneys for a fitting - some off-the-rack clothes - she was just a young girl then - still she had such presense ... But there was also something about her that was cautionary ... as if she had already grown up far too fast ... with experience that was inappropriate to her years. Still and all she was a kind person - I hope she still is.

I did like Drew's photos, though. But I am looking forward to this month's issue -- the cover is gorgeous!
