We are out!
Cavewoman and I have broken the lent "No Buy". It happened last night and it felt really good. I feel hungover. It lasted all day and my entire body is sore.
Everyone get your minds out of the gutter. Here is my quick shopping report:
We began our day like we always do. We did our visit to our Mecca...The Beachwood T J Maxx. Our eyes spied Armani and a lone Alexander McQueen. I waivered on a Trina Turk clutch. I bought a backup Mitsouko EDT. Cavewoman scored on skincare products. We met Griff and Tussah at Nordstorm for lunch and primer research. I got sidetracked by the shoe department and the new Laura Mercier Flawless skinline. I caved on ballet flats and Mercier's perfecting water light and purifying oil light. I will review these products soon. Cavewoman was intensely focused and kept to the primer plan. Cavewoman questioned the Lancome department at Nordstorm. They will have the 2000 et une Rose soon. They could not give a launch date but they were 100% aware of what we were talking about. We went to Sephora where we played in fragrances and cosmetics. Cavewoman pronounced the new Nanette Lepore as disappointing. Tussah introduced us to the new Guerlain called Tutti Kiwi. This a wonderful summer scent. Fruity but more grown up than the Escada fruit offerings. I caved on three things at Sephora. I purchased Kiss Me's mascara. I was influenced by Beauty Addict's review. I also bought Bourjois's complexion illuminating/ highlighting veil and Sephora's primer (perfection makeup base). The last two products were influenced by dear cavewoman's primer reviews. She really has started a primer revolution.
We visited Saks and Griffie fell in love with a great shoe. These were some serious shoes. The kind of shoes that stop traffic, get you boyfriends and make life worth living. The shoe elves at Dolce and Gabbana know how to create some magic. Send caving vibes to griffie. She needs to own these.
I found a pair of navy blue ballet flats at J Crew. But they have a deep dark twisted secret. That is all I am able to say without wincing. I also bought two headbands for summer. I picked up the peep toe patent leather flats at Nine West. They are comfortable and on sale. I regret not getting the red. My last purchases were at anthropologie. The best discover of the night was Paul and Joe's Bleu fragrance. It is out of this world good. I raved about it below.
Huge thanks to cavewoman, griff and tussah for a great day of shopping in Ohio. It was a wonderful day to break a "No Buy".

Sounds like a wonderful outing, and definitely sounds like there is a lot to do in my soon-to-be home! ;-) Thank you for the email! Hugs to you!
And thanks to Annie for being my best shopping buddy and for allowing me to be her beauty editor! Griffie and Tussah are fantastic shopping companions!
Annie did us all proud. I will allow her to eat all the granola off of the top of my yogurt parfait at Nordstrom Cafe any time she wants.
The Alexander McQueen dress at TJMaxx (I can't believe I just wrote that) was ugly. Spring handbags abound in every color, shape, size, and material imagineable! Gorgeous jewelry too. Annie stopped me from caving on an "I must be out of my mind" pair of earrings. I thank her for that too.
Koneko, are you coming to live in our area? That is wonderful! Be prepared for marathon shopping and the best restaurants outside of NYC!
Mel, the secret may be too dark to be revealed.
Sounds like you had a great day!
hi patti!!! yes, i'm moving in july! when it hit me like a ton of bricks earlier today that i was going to be moving to a place with awesome neighbors, i was ecstatic! =) i love reading about all the adventures on the blog, it all sounds like so much fun!
That's wonderful news, Koneko! I can't wait to meet you and head to the beauty and fragrance counters with you!
If you're going to break a no-buy, doing it with Mitsouko at a bargain price is the way to go.
Ooo, I always hit TJ Maxx when I'm in the US, although I've never spotted Armani or McQueen there... evidently I'm visiting the wrong State!
No wonder you're sore- that's a lot of shopping!!!
Really looking forward to the Mercier reviews.
Hi Eurobrat! I reviewed Mercier in review #35.
We have some very amazing TJMaxx stories from the stores in our area. We saw Chanel dresses there last year, along with Versace and Vera Wang floral gowns too!
To quote Alicia Silverstone in Clueless: "shut up"!!!
Chanel and Vera Wang dresses? Must get my butt over to your neck of the woods.
Euro, I have to tell you that the pieces we saw in Chanel were stained as if someone had worn them, rubbed a Shout Wipe where she'd spilled her Cosmo-Tini, (or whatever the lastest fashionable drink would be) and then returned it to the store. There were three racks of pieces from Bergdorf with the Bergdorf tags still on them.
I believe that Bergdorf would take back any garment, even if it is worn, to keep their customers happy.
Hi Eurobrat: Ohio TJ Maxx stores are pretty impressive. I have no clue why. Last night I picked up some lovely Marc Jacobs makeup and a bottle of Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania. It was a pretty good night.
Mel: No.
I am taking this one to my grave.
Congrats! Why did it take you so long to discover Bleu? I've been raving about it for a long time now.
I have also discovered Paul and Joe Bleu...it is marvelous. I love that I don't smell like everyone else and I am always asked about it. However, since anthropologie does not sell it online and they is only one store in Michigan (no where near here) I am safe in disclosing thus far. I discovered it in Las Vegas and eventually purchased in Denver. I never rush to buy fragrance because too often my first instinct is that I love it and once I get it home, it gives me a headache...not this one though. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
