The Great Mascara Hunt: Week 1 Wrap Up
The Great Mascara Hunt 1st Week Wrap Up:
Crystal at Blend discussed the soon to be cult favorite Max Factor Lash Perfection mascara. Cavewoman managed to snag many of us tubes last year when it was launched in limited quantities. I believe she cleaned out all the Walgreen's in Northeast Ohio. It is worth all the hype? Yes.
Rating comes in at 8.

The Daily Obsession wrote about one of the granddaddys of all mascaras.... Lancome's Definicils. It is lengthens and seperates and leaves no mess. Lancome is a makeup house who produces some of the best mascaras on the market. They are damn good at what they do.

Koneko at Koneko's Mostly Beauty Diary expressed her desire to see someone review the Serge Luten's mascara at Barneys. I have started the begging process to one blogger and hopefully she will undertake this special assignment. We all want to know what a $50 mascara is like.
Will it give me Liza eyes? Will it get me a rich husband? Will it solve all my problems? Will it be anything near good like the infamous Stephane Marais mascara comb?
Now that mascara is legendary.

Toya at The Life of a Ladybug has started a mascara lemming with her review for Almay's Intense i-color in purple amethyst. It makes lashes plumper and gives curl action. I am all about curl since my lashes are poker straight. She killed my lemming for L'Oreal's Panoramic Curl. This was a bust and received a low rating of 2. Two worthy contenders to try are Cover Girl's Lash Exact and Avon's Daring Definition Mousse. I love a great makeup gimmick and this mousse sounds like it is up my alley. It performed great and the only drawback was it was not the best for thickening lashes.
But curl action....it has that!

The Non Blonde reviewed Stila's Major Lash Mascara. It does not have much in the way of pigment and performed badly in curling and lengthning. She did have success with it when she used it on her lower lashes. No clumps or flakes. She rated it 3 for the upper lashes and 8 for the lower.
Also read her thoughts on the Marc Jacob's ads with Meg White. I am fan of Miss Meg and often covet all things Marc Jacobs but these ads disturb me. Not in a artful disturbing way that makes me keep looking... but more like a creepy story on 48 hours that quickly makes you change the channel.

Debrab at She'll Be Feverish After So Much Thinking wrote a great piece on the history of mascara. There is some great trivia such as coal dust being an early ingredient along with the first mascara being created in 1913 to help a chemists sister snag a husband. There was happy ending...the gal got her man.

Victoria at Victoria's Own reviewed by new personal favorite Blinc's Kiss Me Mascara. Here is the scoop:
No Smudging
No Flaking
No Raccoon Eyes
No Animal Testing :O)
Easy Removal

and last by not least Parisjasmal at MonkeyPosh posted her review for YSL's Volume Infini Curl. I will be honest...I would sell my soul to have Peej's lashes.
They are long, thick and curl to the heavens. They are the lashes that stop traffic and start wars. Volume Infini with its non christmas tree brush gives Peej great volume and leaves no clumps or mess. Make sure to check out her eyelash curler recs and her new Chloe shoes.

What do you mean by the word "lemming"?
Annie,
This is awesome that you are doing recaps, wrapups, and summaries for the week.
I FINALLY got the links to the other awesome bloggers to work.
This is fun.
AND ==Anonymous, if I may: A lemming in our world is a yearning, an item you covet and are determined to posess if location, finances, and timing are all right.
I believe there is an actual story about little lemmings (monster type creatures) who jump off a cliff or something. Someone else may have a better way of telling it.
Thanks for these recaps Annie and or Patti.
