Compacts from Cavewoman's collection:

Streams of Gold by Estee Lauder.

Estee Lauder was the only woman on Time magazine's 1998 list of the 20 most influential business geniuses of the 20th century. She was also the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

This is my very first Lauder compact, and it has held up really well over the years. I love the weight of it and the little cobalt blue cabochons at the tips of the closure.

Thanks, Patty. I remember the day and the place when I bought this compact and I could not believe I was spending that kind of $$ for it. And here it is, still giving me such pleasure! My Mom always said to me, "A lady always has a compact in her purse." I guess I really took that to heart!
