Shiny shiny, shiny boots of leather
whiplash girlchild in the dark
Comes in bells, your servant, don't forsake him
strike dear mistress and cure his heart

Downy sins of streetlight fancies
chase the costumes she shall wear
Ermine furs adorn imperious
Severin, Severin awaits you there
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me different colors made of tears
Kiss the boot of shiny shiny leather
shiny leather in the dark
Tongue of thongs, the belt that does await you
strike dear mistress and cure his heart
Severin, Severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
Taste the whip, in love not given lightly
taste the whip, now bleed for me
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
different colors made of tears
Shiny shiny, shiny boots of leather
whiplash girlchild in the dark
Severin your servant, comes in bells
please don't forsake him
strike dear mistress and cure his heart

For what it's worth, Venus in Furs was my favorite VU song, back when I was in high school and going through a pretentious phase. Still a great song, though. (And an unsniffed lemming for me, as well. *sniff*)

M: It is a great song. Writing the lyrics for this post made me remenber that. Reed has written some of the most amazing sad songs. He is not recognized nearly enough for that.

Just to add-- the Lou Reed song is actually referencing the book "Venus in Furs," by Leopold Sacher-Masoch (the originator of masochism). It's a really interesting read! Severin is the title character, in love with a dominating woman named Wanda (pronounced Vonda). I think it takes place in early 20th century Vienna, but I could be mistaken.

I think lacremebeauty.com didn't get either the Velvet Underground or the masochism reference when they described this perfume as a proper and elegantly dressed 18th century lady!

The other Alexis scents look interesting, though.
