Anvers by Ulrich Lang
Straight from Aedes:
"Minimalistic, contemporary, timeless, introspective. A fusion of fresh aromatics and provocative spices, classic florals with modern leather notes, bracing woods and amber. Top notes of bergamot, lime and tangerine, highlighted with sage, mint and basil. Heart note of violet, jasmine and geranium leaves warmed with sesame and honey. Base note of leather and moss interwoven with sheer amber, precious woods and a hint of guava."---Aedes website

I remember meeting Ulrich Lang at Tak during one of the Sniffas. Young, Euro, well dressed and well groomed, affable guy with a charmingly dorky quality and a tremendous fondness for fragrance. This shares with Beyond Paradise for Men and Hugo Boss's Baldessarini an unexpected melon (or "guava" as listed here) twist that makes the citrus/woods combo seem new again.
If he was the man in that purple suit at the one sniffa...then he was very good looking. I should have paid attention more.
I was too busy gossiping on the TAK couches. HA
This one is quite good and I have kept my sample after all this time.
