The Day I Met Koneko
The official gloss of the last Cleveland meetup.
Dior Kiss in Sorbet Meringue #2
Last Sunday we met up in Cleveland for a day of shopping. The gang consisted of cavewoman, griffie, koneko and me. This was the first time we met the adorable Koneko from Koneko's Mostly Beauty Blog.
http://beautydiary.blogspot.com/
We began the day at SAKS at the Nars counter. We played with the new fall collection and discussed eye shadow combos. Mr Lovejoy helped me figure out new looks for my Nars Thunderball. This is a required shadow for all makeup junkies.
He then took the gang to the La Mer counter for the finger test in their new powder product. Koneko was just as startled at how finely milled it was...and she is also a proud owner of the product. I realize that I have become a cheerleader for La Mer. It is hard to not scream from the rooftops about the foundation and powder. It is holy grail status. They are expecting the concealer any day now. I can not wait!
We then went to check out the Nordstorm anniversary sale. The best part of this sale were the limited edition beauty products specifically created for Nordstorm. MAC had a beautiful collection filled with compacts and palettes. I loved the YSL palette in a pink case. It was very snazzy and was filled with pretty pink colors. I went over to the Bobbi Brown counter and discovered that the Chocolate eye palette was sold out. This product sold like hotcakes.

Should I try to hunt this down? Anyone smitten with it?
The biggest beauty find was courtesy of Cavewoman. She introduced us to the power of the DiorKiss gloss.
Cavewoman, Koneko and I bought the Sorbet Meringue #008. It is a clear gloss with a multi-color shimmer. Griffie purchased orange nectar #248. This is a sheer tangerine with gold glitter. It looked incredible on.
Read Koneko's blog for a review of the gloss along with great pictures.
We can not wait to go shopping again!

This sounds like my kind of day. :)
A perfect day of gabbing, lunching, testing, sniffing, and sparkling! Koneko is adorable and this is just the first of many more fun Cleveland get-togethers! Our next date, Little Italy, the festival for the Feast Of The Assumption, and bags of salted lupini, cups of gelato, and cute vintage stores!
Of course, the power of DiorKiss. That just might be my biggest weakness. (Especially at Duty Free, when you can get discontinued colors on SALE!)
Lovely day, and yes please do yourself a favor and get that chocolate palette! :)
Thank you so much for making me feel so very welcome and loved sparkly! ;-) It was truly a lovely day... I told my family all about it, and they said I sound like my old self again!
Carla: It was a great day. If you are ever in the Cleveland area you can join us! We have great restaurants! LOL
BTW: What would cavewoman and I need to do a podcast? Do we need a special program?
P: I can not wait for that day!
Jane: It is a great gloss. Long lasting and not gritty.
I need to investigate the discontinued colors. I bet there was some lovely ones.
Anon: Come back and tell me more. Are the colors rich? shimmery? Will I regret not getting it?
PV: You need to try it. Also check out Koneko's pics on her blog. It is so shimmery.
Koneko: I had so much fun!!!
I can not wait for Little Italy!
How fun! That sounds like a great day!
I can't wear the Sorbet Meringue! It totally irritated my lips, and stung like crazy after a half hour and I had to give it away! GAH! The only one I have been able to wear without too much trouble is the Praline, and even with that one I HAVE to wear lipliner underneath or it stings. *sniff* I miss out on all the DiorKiss fun!!
Shoot, I read somewhere else about the BB chocolate eye palette, too, and it sounded like it was a winner. Can't remember where I read it now!
OK, since you mentioned La Mer and since I'm just so anxious to try it out, I have to ask an off topic question. What moisturizer and/or primer do you wear with your La Mer foundation, Annie? The La Mer moisturizers are just way too expensive so I'm wondering if there is a suitable substitute?
Toya: I did it!
It is still available at Nordstorm.com!!!!
Hi Anon:
I have been using Shiseido Pureness moisturizer off and on with it. The foundation's ingredients have been keeping my face pretty hydrated and under control. I bet Prada's moisturizer would work well with it. Now that stuff was fab. I found one at TJ Maxx and got hooked. I regret not getting more.

Hey :) Sorry, I didn't keep up on the comments. If we're talking about me interviewing you two lovely gals, all you would need is Skype so we can talk through the computer and avoid LD charges. Otherwise, if you're looking to start a podcast. There are free programs and paid programs. If you want to chat about this, send me an email to cmarina @ gmail .com. This way I can get back to you right away. ;)
