Things I liked about The Devil Wears Prada:
1. It was better than I expected.
2. Loved the makeup. Great smokey eyes on the Princess.
3. Loved Emily Blunt.
4. They mentioned the shu eyelash curler.
5. Hermes was a major character. The scene where dozens of Hermes scarves were floating in the sky....I got choked up.
6. These Chanel necklaces. Now if this came with perfume charms....I would have to cave.
7. The chain necklace Streep wore. Cavewoman and I sat up straight in our seats when it appeared on the screen. It was dazzling and worth coveting. It was the star of the movie.

I agree with everything!
I loved all of Streep's wardrobe. The russet Swakara jacket had to be one of the shining moments for me!
At the end of the movie, Streep appears near her car, wearing a beautiful fur. I squealed "Dennis Basso!" and I am sure the entire theater heard me. I couldn't help myself! And sure enough, when the credits rolled at the end, there was his name. I swear I can spot a Basso fur a mile away.
I loved the movie based on the fashion alone, and everyone else thinks I'm crazy that Emily was my favorite character.
Anon: You are not alone nor crazy. She was excellent and had some of the best lines.
Does anyone know where you can purchase those chanel necklaces that are worn in the movie? I love them, and I have to have them!! I've been searching on the internet but I can't seem to find any.....
Kat: I assumed that Ebay would be the only place. On Monday we are going to check to see if our Chanel boutique still has some and I will let you know. The last time I was in there I did not see them so I think they are long gone. But...its Cleveland so you never know.
I loved this movie as well. It made me really want to pack up my bags and move to NYC. The clothes, the makeup, the style was all fantastic. I must say I was so happy to see the gold Shu curler that I about jumped on the male friend of mine that was at the movie with me. Needless to say, I was well impressed.
Kat: No necklaces in Cleveland.
They are gone.
Darn it.
I just saw the film and wanted to add that I, too, loved Emily, loved the make up on Anne Hathaway (amazing eyes!) and adored Meryl Streep - the goddess of American acting. Her look was worth the price of admission - including the weird way the hair (pieces?) was placed on her forehead, the make-up (was it intentional that it paled beside Anne Hathaway's... indicative of Miranda's age?)
ALl the women cast in the film were uniformly excellent.
The men, aside from Stanley Tucci (he-who-can-do-no-wrong-in-whatever
part-he-plays) were utterly miscast and that was a disappointment in an otherwise entertaining movie!
But it sure was fun to watch the parade of clothes, shoes, accessories etc!
I loved The Devil Wears Prada also. I would love to know what designer, and where to purchase, the silver or gray eyeglasses that Ms Streep wore. I just wish I could afford all of it, except the furs.

I, too, want Andi's Chanel necklace. And I agree that Emily stole the movie but all actors were great. Being a non-jewelry type for decades, this movie made me want to 'adorn' myself with fabulous jewelry and clothing!
Did anyone find where you can get the Chanel Necklasses from? I really would love one..... Please help !
the necklace andrea wore in the movie can be found in http://www.sell.com/2383P4
I was wondering if anyone knew where to find those Indian (inspired or original?) necklaces and earrings in the scene when she tells Andi she must get the twins a copy of the newest Harry Potter book?
I was wondering where to find the earings that Miranda Priestly (Merril Streep) was wearing at the party she hosted (long thin earrings with stone on tip) for top fashion designers with both of her assistants present.
