It has arrived!

Description from Aedes:

Chypre Rouge, the mysterious and sultry fragrance from Serge Lutens, takes one into a magical forest where the pine trees are festooned with fragrant mosses and the fallen leaves have the aroma of caramelized pecans. An opulent undercurrent of jasmine and honey fills the heart of this beautiful composition with a richness that lends a seductive warmth to the finished result. Its polished lacquer red form reclines onto the darkness of patchouli, amber and fruit gums making for a mesmerizing fragrance.

My favorite is hard to pick, since I really love chypres, but I must choose Amouage Ubar. A sexier perfume would be hard to find, yet it is elegant as well, never sweet, and it lasts forever on the skin. Alas, of course, it has been discontinued.

This sounds delightful... I hope the patchouli is not too strong, I think I might love it!

Oh this one sounds good!

I'm going to have to try this one for sure. Anyone here tried it yet?

I'm not really a chypre gal, but I love Niki De Saint Phalle and I'm lovin' my new Guerlain Sous Le Vent. :O)

I have loved chypres ever since I was given the original Cachet by Matchabelli when I was in high school. Sadly, it was totally reformulated and the new bears no resemblance at all to the original.
My first Guerlain (after three trips to the counter at Saks in NY) was Parure, and it remains one of my favorite chypres as well as my favorite Guerlain.
Deneuve is my all time favorite perfume and is also a chypre.
And Lady Caron, a lovely white floral chypre, I have just recently started my third bottle of this scent!
I could go on and on about chypres!

actually, my favourite is the Coty.

The Chypre Rouge scares me - I can't believe I'm going to like a pecan note but I'm still dying to try it nonetheless.
