"Getting Nailed" Polish Challenge for the week of October 16th 2006:
I originally was going with a red nail this week until I got sidetracked by another vamp shade.
I decided to go with a new OPI shade called Oh to be 25 Again. It is part of their anniversary collection. It is a rich red based chocolate brown. Think Red Velvet cake. This polish is highly pigmented with a glossy sheen. OPI polishes last well with my nails but this one is exceptional. The sheen rivals the glossy Japanese Rose Garden.
The above picture is from a makeupalley member named Elizabethhoye. This is a great shot of the various vamp shades. OPI Vampire State Building is fairly famous in nail polish junkie circles. It is a HG polish. The color depends on how many coats you use. The more you use the more goth it gets. Two coats can get you a lovely blood red rose. Three takes you to Chanel Vamp levels.
OPI A Man in Every Port-ugal is also a solid performing vampish maroon shade. This one has the most subtle flash of blue shimmer. It is gorgeous.
I am not familiar with China Glaze's Vintage. According to various MUA reports it is a true brick red that is slightly naughty.
What is your nail polish this week?

It looks like you will.
I am going to try to be good and watch my spending.
I have to go a "no buy" soon.
BTW: I grabbed a Prada at TJ Maxx. I think I might love it.
I like the Oh...To be 25 Again!, too. How do you like the wider applicator brush?
This week I have Orly Naughty on, which is a near-black red and looks incredible on. The formula is kind of thick, though. Seemed a bit goopy and I just bought it!
Erika: Loved the wider brush!!!!!
It gives such a clean application. I have never played with Orlys. Will have to check this color out! They make lovely looking pinks.
I bought a set of Instant Manicure stickers from a friend who just started selling Avon. They've been sitting on my desk for 2 weeks and I decided to tackle it tonight.
The color is Reddy or Not, I think. Pretty medium shiny red.
The stickers...meh. It took every bit as long as it would've to polish and I have lots of pretty polishes. I had trouble lining them up straight and it was just a mess. I won't waste my money on these again.
Ok, it's called Reddy to Go.
Still...meh.
I have L'Oreal Jes Shine in a dark eggplanty color (no fun name, just a number). It took three coats to get the shade but it is very nice and surprisingly long-lasting for L'Oreal.
Today I will do my nails with my latest purchase, Estee Lauder in Platinum from the new fall collection. (I tried to get my hands on some Plum Cassis but it was sold out).
By the way, you were right about the European Black Satin: no glittery shine! Its a dull black color, I'm so dissapointed we're missing out... here's hoping we'll get some of the new shipment.
A, I'm still wearing OPI LPAD on my toesies, but may paint them "Wicked" this weekend.
Of course that HG shade is discontinued, right? Why even bother asking...:(:(
Revlon Raven Red is still the best red ever, but the ones in the picture look mighty lovely. :):)
Hugs!

I cut my nails very very short, and painted on Cover Girl's Mauvelicious. It is a perfect match for my very pale skin.
