One of my fragrance wishes for 2006 came true last week when I unwrapped Fumerie Turque.
If you remember I posted a New Years wish that was...
"I hope that Fumerie Turque will be on the export list."
I thought it was a pipe dream until the confirmation came via Bela and Makeupalley.
I was giddy.
Why was I giddy? Because this fragrance is heavenly.
There is smoked leather with Balkan tobacco notes along with currants, white honey, candied Turkish rose, Egyptian jasmine, beeswax, Peru balsam, patchouli, tonka bean, styrax, juniper oil and vanilla. The information on the notes was found at the great resource Serge Luten's Fragrances Nearly all the Facts at

On me Fumerie Turque is all sweet smoke with just a hint of rose. It has an amazing drydown that lasts throughout the day. It is sultry and romantic. I wore it every day last week except for when I tested Estee Lauder Pleasures. I can not get enough of it.
This is true fragrance lust.
It is exclusive to Barneys and will retail for $98. It will be available in November.
Call Tyler at NYC Barneys at 212-833-2003.
He is my favorite SA.

I need to try this again. I think I formed a negative opinion of it two years ago based on a sample that had gone off. A friend recently let me smell a blotter sprayed with his fresh bottle, and it smelled much richer, sweeter, and more complex than the sample I remembered. I'm so glad you've got it! Thanks for the good news, Annie.
Is there any way to get it earlier? Where did you get yours?
Tbone: You need to revisit it.
It is worthy of a trip to Barneys.
Anon: If you are located in the US you might have to wait till November. The salon does not ship to the states. If you have any friends in Europe then you might want to see if they would be willing to ship it to you. It sounds like a lot of trouble but the SL fragrances are worth it.
Plus you can get a lovely bar jar. I have always wanted a bell jar of FT with my initals on it.
If you have any questions please look at Bela's link. It has everything you need to know on it.
It is the best resource next to Serge himself.
As for my bottle it was a very generous and mindblowing gift.
Everyone: Another great Barneys is in Beverly Hills. The phone number is: (310) 276-4400 and ask for Anthony. He is MUA friendly.
Be careful having this perfume shipped from a friend in France. I purchased this from the SL boutique and the top of the bottle is a traditional glass stopper. There is barely any seal. The SA told me to carry it upright on the plane, as it could easily leak.
Perhaps they've change the stopper and bottle since July--my bottle is square and doesn't look like this picture.
You have a bell jar bottle.
My bottle is the one they produce for export fragrances.
Your bottle is 100 times better. They look so cool. I have actually have never seen one in real life.
Annie, the bell jar bottles are surprisingly small and drab in real life. Actually, the special edition ones that are decorated all over may be better, but in person the regular ones have a bit of an "Is that all there is?" quality after all the hype. Nice little round bottles, but not worth the trouble if the perfume is available in an export bottle, IMO. Although I have a ten-ton lemming for the Mandarine Mandarin bottle.
Oh you lucky girl! What amazing gifts, first the Behnaz and now this. Making me jealous over here. :)
