I liked Angelina Jolie's and Kate Walsh's dresses the best. And I like that Reese Witherspoon took chances with color and length. It worked.
Ali Larter nearly nailed it but that neckline was unflattering on her. Odd cleavage geometry. I also liked Kyra Sedgwick's dress--not great but a great improvement over her previous choices. glad she won too.
Misses: lots of 'em! Cameron Diaz, Heidi Klum, Sienna Miler were the top on my Ha(u)te Couture list :-)

Reese be looking hot. Her stylist clearly took a page from Michelle Williams's triumph as a blonde in Tweety-bird yellow. I only saw one pic of Salma and thought she looked wildly hot, but then again, she could have just shown up in the hotel sheets with a few safety pins and I would have thought that. So...white is the new black. It's official.

Rebelle, I heard Joan and Melissa this morning saying that Beyonce's dress was so drop-dead gorgeous in person but it did not photograph well at all.
The girl has real-woman curves and is not falling prey to the must-be-skin-and-bones trend.

I'm totally with you on most of your choices, except for Ellen Pompeo, who looked like an underfed alien, and Cameron Diaz, who looked kind of sad overall (esp. hair and makeup, eek!).
Your comment about Sharon Stone was also totally right on, I thought the same thing until someone mentioned her name.

Cameron Diaz's makeup looked like the Joker did it in my opinion. I loved Eva's and JL's makeup, and I think Felicity Huffman looks amazing for her age.
Oh this is fun. Felicity, Reece, Angelina, ellen pompeo, Sheryl Crow are my best dressed, oh and Julia L. Dreyfus. she always manages to really glam up and look incredible at these things. Reece definitley had a " take that you cheating husband" look going.
I agree that Salma had a too weird neckline, but she loves to really show that cleavage, and usually it works.
America looked good but could have made a better choice, and Jennifer Hudson looked fab. she needed some more bling but a good dress.
I totally disliked JLo, I really think the dress looked cheap and it hung funny.
also, Renee Zellweger, beauty of a dress and color, but she's just getting too thin. It actaully takes away from her looks now.
Kate Winslet_ a beauty always, a great dress and nice red lips, but someone please get her some eyebrow bleach. thsoe eyebrows were so dark, thats all your eye went to.
did anyone see the pics of Mary Lynn Raskjub, Chloe on 24? so different from what we usually see her in. it was hanging a bit too low, needed more support, but bravo for her to pulling off great glam.
and I want to know how Melania Trump keeps her cleavage so , how to say this, up and perfectly balanced on her dresses. it;s like there' a platform holding them there. amazing. maybe they do build something in the dress.
best of all was this amazing, huge and I mean huge emerald necklae worn by soneone in the background of a shot. later saw that it was Rupert Murdoch's wife Wendy Deng. It was incredible and I bet hers, not rented. wow.

Angelina Jolie's dress was beautiful...but I wish her face looked a little brighter. I feel like the color washer her out a bit and maybe she could have used a bit more blush or something.

Patti: What the hell was Gunn smoking? Hewitt did not come close to looking the best.
Beyonce was all vavoom...and you really can not hate that. However the poses were way too much. It was too much everything.
Soulgirl: The drapery added volume to her.
It was overkill in comparison to Drew Barrymore's dress. I think the fit was off to. One breast was higher than the other in photographs. Salma is very striking and generally knows how to dress her body.
Vanessa's hair was pretty bad. I was surprised because she looks so damn good on that Ugly Betty show. I did not think she could have "bad taste" in her. She usually looks amazing and well put together.
Annette looked good. She did not wear a black pantsuit...which is rare.

Who is your pick for best dressed gent this year? I realize I never took any notice, really - maybe they were way more boring than usual.
I saw Ali Larter's dress in several angles while browsing GG photos on Yahoo! News. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous dress, but there were some photos where the angle was such that I thought Ali was going to pop out of her dress!
Could've been worse, though: in the same slideshow I saw a picture of Ashley Olsen wearing dark eyeliner AND dark lips at the same time, and thought she looked worse than Cameron Diaz.
I didn't watch, but my friend watched the GGs while we were chatting and she told me that Renee and Meryl Streep looked really gorgeous. I liked Kate Winslet, Jen Hudson, and Drew (am a sucker for the color and style), and thought Beyonce looked way too OTT in that dress (if she was going for Diana she should've gone all the way with the big hair). I was also on the fence about J.Lo (ercellent makeup, but she looked better in the turquoise one-shoulder dress - the one she had on last night looked like a black embroidered tablecloth) and Cate Blanchett (what the...?)
not fond of Salma's dress, much to my disappointment, but OMG America! WOW! way to work it, lady! and yes, Kyra Sedgwick looked stunning.
