Questions to Blogdorf

Sarah asks:
I was wondering if you could recommend a blush, I have liked Nars cheek stain in the past but they no longer make it, and Cover Girl in classic pink. I have blond hair, green eyes, and a cool complexion. I hear raves about Nars Orgasm but it is described as a "peachy pink" and I am afraid it will not look good with a cool complexion...Any suggestions would be sooo appreciated, I'm sure you get lots of emails like this so thanks for taking the time to read this!

Please post your suggestions in the comments!

I have blond hair and a pale cool complexion. I have used Nars Orgasm blush every day for years and love it! I highly recommend checking it out!

My sis also has a cool complexion, and is usually blonde (as of late she's taken to dying her hair with a red tint.) She doesn't do well with overtly peachy blushes, but one that looks freaking amazing on her is actually a total cheapie... La Femme's Cloudy Pink. It's got some creamy peachy undertones, but but nothing too obvious. The only downside is the coffin-like ugly packaging. But since no one's really going to see that, I'm not sure it matters so much? She tried out the NARS Orgasm when we were on a shopping excursion at a local boutique, but neither of us thought it looked quite "right" on her. Or at least, not as nice as some others she liked. There was a LORAC blush she liked, though, but I can't remember the name of it anymore! It was one of the dual lip and cheek stains they make, and was kind of a rose petal color.

Clinique Precious Posy is amazing- I like it way better than Orgasm, and I think it has a touch more pink, so it would probably suit the blonde/cool complexion demographic better.

Hi! I would suggest the Nars Multiple in Riviera! It is the perfect light pink shade for summer & for your coloring! This cream to powder formula can be easily applied with your fingertips! Just smile and apply on apples of cheeks--don't forget to blend!
Also, a fabulous book "The 5 Minute Face" by Carmindy (Celeb Makeup artist from 'What Not to Wear') is amazing! Go to page 66 for fab beauty tips for Blondes!!

I am blonde/blue, and I've used MAC Strata for a long time; it's very subtle and great for easing into the blush thang. I've just aquired NARS orgasm, and I think it's absolutely lovely. It's subtle, in a very very pretty sort of way. To date, I have been unable to make this look bad on my skin. I've also used Stila's Convertible Color in Peony, which is a nice warm glow, rather than a bold color. When I feel really adventurous, I use BeneFit's I Lotus-ed You Looking, which is actually a lilac-pink, and it's a great face brightener, but I don't use it everyday.

The Nars alternative to Orgasm, is Deep Throat. A little less peachy i think. On the cool blondes I know, this works great.
Good Luck

You can use some cool pinks and plums to enhance your naturally pink complexion..Givenchy has these absolutely fantastic Prissime blushes.....and so does Dior......I've been a fan of shiseido's Accentuating stick which is a steal
