Bond 9 comes to Cleveland!

Sak's Beachwood loves Bond...

...and so does Blogdorf Goodman.

The day was a smashing success. Patti's surprise was a visit by the beloved and much missed golden boy Shawn. Laurice brought him back to his Saks family for a day filled with greeting new and longtime Bond fans, champagne and sparkles.
Each Cleveland Saks Bond bottle was signed by Laurice and decorated by Shawn with a swarovski crystal.

SAKS created a stunning space for Laurice. The entire store was decorated with Bond in mind. There were subway tokens adorning the doors and floors, stunning floral arrangements inspired by the Chinatown bottle, Westside themed cake and cookies, and several Bond testers in the Chanel boutique.

I purchased Bryant Park while my gang splurged on a variety of scents and bottles. The surprise of the day was the discovery of Bond's New York Fling.
I have neglected to pay attention to it all these years. The notes are clementine, gingery cardamon, peony, lily of the valley, freesia, basil, cedarwood, amber and musk. It was sparkling and full of pretty.
I was quite taken with it.

Shawn layered Westside with H.O.T Always before dinner. When he reached for the H.O.T Always bottle, I winced. That is a patchouli that packs a powerful punch. It is the Joe Frazier of patch scents. The layering of Westside transformed H.O.T into something tamer and less wild. It became a proper gentleman instead of a thug.

I really thought I knew the Bond line inside and out.
I was wrong.
There are discoveries waiting to be made in that line from Patti's Madison Soiree to Griffie's Nuit de Noho.
I need to put down the Chinatown bottle and start exploring again.

The day was a fabulous due to the incredible efforts of the dashing Francisco, the local Bond counter girls Lisa and Barb, the Beauty Floor manager Julie, our new boyfriend James, the magnificent and amazing Alesha and our new buddy Ed, Saks store manager.
He was charming, generous and made all of us feel welcome.
Ed made us love Saks even more and I did not think that was possible.

What beautiful photos, Annie! It was a dream come true for me, because I had asked Laurice to come to our little Saks store last year when we visited her on Bond St. I almost cried when I saw "my surprise" -- Shawn!
I still can't get over our new buddy Ed, offering to get us "cwoffee" with that hint of his Manhattan roots in his way of speaking, what a gracious host he was for the event. Every detail of preparation for Laurice's personal appearance was perfect. She loved the store, the staff, and the Cleveland Gang! And I know she will come back someday. Oh, and I've already started to test and investigate some of the Bonds that I don't know very well.
Thanks again for the beautiful tribute to Laurice Day at Saks Beachwood!

Awwww, thank you girls for the great photos and narratives. I feel like I was there! I'm sure you all smelled extra-delicious.

Patti, you look radiant in those photos, and I don't think it's the illuminating power of your makeup!

Thanks, Annie, for this lovely early morning treat.

Twinny, that's my Prescriptives Custom Blend. With MAC Lightscapade over top!

Well, it is possibly the event itself, and all of our wonderful friends together at last!

Such a wonderful day! Laurice was very fun and gracious. It was so nice to see Shawn doing well and it was lovely having the "Cleveland gang" all together, except that we missed Koneko! Playing with our new Bonds has been loads of fun too!

The Beachwood Saks really did a fantastic job with the event- Even though we had to wait a while, everyone was incredibly gracious and accomodating and it really made it a wonderful experience. (I'll probably have to go back to buy another bottle as a gift soon!)

Barb: It was wonderful to meet you on saturday! I am looking forward to playing at the counter soon!

SMP: I wish I could have met you!
Laurice loved Cleveland and might try to visit again during the holidays. It all depends on her schedule though.
Did you meet Shawn? He was the one sitting next to her with the crystals.
