Getting Nailed Challenge for June 9th 2007:
I am wearing Essie's Fiji with Bikini with a Martini as a top coat. Fiji is a chalky ballerina pink color. Bikini is a sheer opalescent amethyst color. The combination is very pretty.
The snag is my nails are getting beat up fairly quickly.

I am pretty hooked on the Zoya Lacquers they had when I got my nails done yesterday-- I went with 'Vivienne' which is a beige-y seashell color; although I might love Essie 'Soho Nude' a little more for the color the Zoya is vastly superior in terms of consistency and appearance. Next time I am going to the drugstore for a chalky, unadulterated neon pink, the cheapest I can find!

I'm wearing China Glaze Vampy on my fingers, and China Glaze It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere on my toes. If your fingers are getting beaten up, it's probably time for a treatment basecoat. I know Dramaqueenie2 will have some great suggestions, I personally really love the Barielle line. There is one that is meant for "overworked fingernails" (I'm blanking on the name) that I love. Don't pay full price though, it's almost always at Marshall's or TJ Maxx for $5 instead of $15. I use a coat of this under China Glaze's ridge filler (very strong due to fiberglass in it), then Orly bonder before I even add my color.
Everyone: YOu have some great colors on this week! I wrote some down for future mani's.

I am also going to try China Glaze's Ridge Filler. I am currently using Essie. It is good...but I am always looking for better!
OPI's Strawberry Margarita on tips (perfect medium bright pink creme) and Essie's Poor Li'l rich girl on toes (great dark red-brown creme). Poshe top coat which keeps anything from getting banged up.

I am loving Lippmann's Sarah Smile (two coats as a base) and then OPI's Peace, Baby on top (1 or 2 coats). :)
