Christian Dior Fall 2007 Couture Collection: Part I

"I have designed flower women," Dior was quoted as saying of his style, which Harpers Bazaar reportedly coined "The New Look." (Chinadaily.com)

He played the romantic, drawing on French painters and photographers, Spanish bullfighters and Dior's famous nip-waisted, full-skirted 1947 New Look. The first time around, the New Look spawned post-World War II street protests against the designer's conspicuous use of fabric. Now, 25 meters of silk is a God-given right. (LA Times, Booth Moore)

"They share the femininity and romanticism but also the modernity and extravagance ... Christian Dior was not classical at all in the 1950s. He was revolutionary. Today he looks classical. It is like Picasso," said Bernard Arnault. (Chinadaily.com)

This collection was far and away my favorite! Galliano almost always is! The white dress with the pink fabric that folds into a rose on the hip ... perfection! The hats, the broad shoulders, the shoes -- loveitloveitloveit! Thanks for posting more gorgeous photos!

so glad to see Galliano touted, on blogs, in press, anywhere.and Bravo! Stephen Jones for the hats.....as a milliner, I'm in love. No time like the present to wear a hat, anywhere, for any reason, with any outfit. This collection, and the John Galliano collection for Fall 07, on Style.com simply surpass. Everytime I think that boy is done, he does it again. May we all wear a ballgown in the near future!

I am inspired by the style, Galliano makes the Haute Dior Couture known by its name. The design describes it.I am proud of Galliano, though he inspires Dior by his outrageous style, he still makes it the Dior look.
