Lucky Lemming
I received my latest Lucky magazine and promptly fell into lust with this outfit.
I can not stop thinking about it and how it could improve my life.
It could become "the outfit".
You know the one.
That one special outfit that you reach for every moment of your life.
The one that you want to wear every single day.
Of course...the price on each piece is enough to make you fall out of lust. The yellow top alone is over $600.
Do you think I will able to copy this outfit on the cheap?
Should I just close my eyes and order everything and chalk it up to my non-existent will power?
I doubt I will do this but it is tempting.

Of course you could re-create outfit! $600 for the top alone--wouldn't that go a long way toward a really nice bag?
I think you can DEFINITELY recreate it for a reasonable price!! And that way you could even get more than one color of an element (blouse, maybe?) and mix it up when you want. You probably have the pants already :). I've seen a couple of blouses credited to topshop that look similar. Keep us posted! :)
Now, while we're talking about Lucky ... Can I just AGAIN say that I think there is a conspiracy among art directors and photographers against my beloved Liv Tyler!!! Quah?! WHAT is going on here?? She has ROCKED her body post-baby and they put her in something with an elastic waist???? And shoot her from an angle that makes her head look like a little pea?! Rockin red lip color -- but even her face and lip color weren't the most flattering I've seen on her. A wretched shame! But I do love her and am glad she got Allure and Lucky covers back to back (this way Vogue and Elle can be left to the models ... oh I'm too fickle for even my own good :). Molly
I think it would be smarter to re-create the outfit on the cheap, as you said, and then take that $600 dollars and apply it to something you really want, such as a pretty coat.
Lucky tempts my wallet every month...I have pages upon pages marked with "WANT THIS!" I haven't gotten my issue yet, but based on your scans...it looks like this month will be no different.
I think if you re- create the outfit with less expensive clothes you may even fall in love with it more. That way it looks like a cost a million bucks but didn't cost more than a grand!
I like the outfit, but I think you can probably re-create it for less. Try jjill.com. Use the money you save toward the clover coat!
Thanks everyone!
Now on to the hard part...trying to recreate it.
If you spot anything that would work...let me know.
I think you could absolutely put that together on the cheap. Those pants look like the ones I bought six pairs of in different colors before Forth & Towne closed -- some of which quite cheap on eBay I've found. They're flat front, side zip, loose/straight leg, with a heavy enough fabric to hang well but still be three-season weight. They had a few different lines in the stores, and I just checked mine and most were from their "Vocabulary" line.
