Blue is the New Black in Nail Polish By Melanie Parker
Yes I been black.
But when I come back
You won't know, know, know...
Lippmann Collection dared to take the jelly polish to the next level with Rehab. Named after Amy Winehouse's hit single from the album Back to Black, this seemingly rich, sapphire blue polish in the cut glass bottle shines like a gem. But when you apply it to the nail, you see the sheer color must be built up in layers for the rich translucency that defines a jelly finished polish.
This picture features four coats of color and reminds me of French blue glass cabochons polished and gleaming in the sun. It's an interesting interpretation for the blue Fall polish trend in the industry right now. OPI currently features three new navy blue shades between their last two collection: Light My Sapphire, Ink, and Russian Navy. But, I'll stick with Rehab. Chances are that you won't be saying "No, No, No!" to this polish if you try it!

Hey A! Have you seen Rescue Beauty Lounge's new sapphire shade? It is GORGEOUS...the name escapes me at the moment, but Allure had a pic of it in the newest issue. GORGEOUS.
....Ooops! I see your post from the other day. Under the Stars, yes!

I love love love the navy trend but 4 coats? Yowza! Can you skip either base or top coat? I don't know if I have the skill for that ... or if my nails would ever fully dry to be free from smudge risks.
The Rehab is amazing on you, DQ2! :D All these pics of blue polish are almost enough for me to dig out my bottle of Misa Blueberry Glaze, the only blue I own. Almost. :D
Oh, Gablesgirl- You'd be suprised what a good quick dry topcoat can do for a girl's mani skills! T
ry either Seche Vite or Poshe top coats. Both are available on line at head2toebeauty or 8ty8beauty or at Sally Beauty Supply and ULTA.
I apply all of my coats (2 base coats and then 2-4 of color) without waiting for it to dry, then the top coat. Both are kinda thick and will "float" on top of the other polish. But, SV and Poshe will dry all of the layers in 10-15 minutes, which makes even me much more likely to have a perfect mani! Good luck!
I love Opi's Russian Navy! Somehow I missed the Black Nail Polish trend so I'm glad I discovered the new blue!
Tammy: I have not seen it IRL but that picture in Allure was stunning. It will be hard to beat my Zoya Indigo.
Christine: I agree! Rehab looks amazing on DQ2's nails. It makes me want to try it asap.
the rescue beauty shade is gorgeous, under the stars is the name!
personally, i just purchased light my sapphire and ink (both by opi) and prefer the light my sapphire. it's a bit of black, a bit of gun metal and then that touch of navy.
the shimmer ink shows off in the bottle does not show up in the mani, however (for anyone that was concerned - i was!)
i tried on rehab this weekend and it went on very light on me, even after applying 3 coats of it to my nail. i love how dark it is on yours though. i think i may need to go check it out again.
