MAC Matte 2:
The intensity of pigments X
the high opacity of flat matte texture
= Matte2.

MAC Shadows pictured left to right:
Poison Pen: A deep mid-tone grayish purple shade
Fig 1: Eggplant shade.
Post Haste: A bright berry pink.
Pen "n" Pink: a lovely opalish pink
Newly Minted: Sea Green
Flourishing: Moss Green
Copperplate: Muted mid-toned gray. This is the clear winner with all the shades. It is a richly pigmented taupe color.
Handwritten: Rich fudge brownie shade that is a must have for brown shadow lovers.

It takes just one quick swipe of these colors to get the rich deep shades that normally have only been achieved by pure pigments. MAC describes the shadows as performing like "powdered ink"...and this is accurate.
They feel extra rich and creamy than their usual shadow formulas. It is like applying cashmere to your eyelids.
The lasting power is also more impressive. They stay put and the pigment power never waivers throughout the day. There is also less mess with very little dusting or fly aways.
I am hoping MAC expands the line and makes it a regular option in their collections.
It sure kicks the "pan" of the other shadows.
Sorry for the bad makeup pun.

i have purchased one of these (signed, sealed) as a not-really-mac-fan and am quite pleased with all of the things you mentioned are nice about them. pigment is nice although maybe a touch chalky.

I am nutty for this collection! If I don't ever get to buy another Mac prod, I will be happy to have gone out on the bang that is Matte2. I bought Tete a Tint, Brownscript, Blanc Type, Pen n Pink (I told you I went nutz for it!), Handwritten and Signed Sealed. As much as I love all things shimmer (oh how I love shimmer!!!) the mattes are really the most flattering on my skin type/tone/coloring (and I SUPPOSE the most age app for soon 2 b 38 :P). Ciao bellas! Molly
