40 days and 40 Nights of Beauty Cult Classics
Day 15, Rimmel's Snog

Rimmel's Vinyl Gloss in Snog is frequently described as a "your lips but better" shade. This will give your lips the appearance of being flushed or just bitten. It has "better than average" shine and applies smooth and drama free. There is no gloppy mess or tacky smackers. For a gloss it has decent staying power. The taste and smell is not remarkable...which is a good thing.

The reason why I have chosen it for the Beauty Cult Classics series is that it qualifies 100 percent. It has everything going for it. The quality is high end with a drugstore price. It is universally flattering on many skin tones. It has a slightly naughty name.
What is not to love?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments. If you have not tried this gloss...I encourage you to do so.

You will not be sorry.

Disclosure: I purchased this lippie from my local drugstore.

You know, once upon a time, Rimmel's glosses were worthy of HG status for me (particularly Cosmic & Essential). They were unscented, they were thick & tacky, lasted forever, and the color, while not opaque, was definitely noticeable. This is how they were when they first hit the market, and they were, IMHO, comparable to MAC's Lipglass in quality/texture.

I was so disappointed to find that they changed this formula so much :-( ... the doefoot applicator is now a sponge ... they added a sickening Creamsicle scent ... and most importantly, they changed the formula to a thinner, less pigmented one. AND it doesn't have much lasting power anymore, either.

Sigh ... I wish they'd just kept good enough alone!

hi annie, i will go buy Snog later and try this gloss! Just curious, what is your all-time favorite lip gloss? do you have one?

Sounds like I might need to try this one.

I just wish the Rimmel line was available elsewhere besides Walmart near me. I so dislike even going into Walmart - but I might make an exception.

Anything for beauty! ;)

I agree with lipstickchick, the scent is now absolutely overwhelming. I had to quit wearing it.

No, I haven't heard or tried it, but definitely will seek it out now!

Lipstickchick and Campaspe: I had no idea that it has been reformulated. Mine has no scent at all.

Warning to readers: There might be a quality issue with the new tubes.

I bought two Vinyls a few years ago and really, really wanted to like them, having had good luck with other Rimmel products. But whenever I tried to wear it, the applicator would practically drip with product and was sooo messy and uneven when I applied it. Gave up on this one.

teri - Rimmel is now at K Mart, Walgreens, Ulta - I agree with the Walmart hate and did not buy the line when it was only available there.

I just went to Walgreens and got it and I really like it... i dont mind the sent or taste and it really is the shade of my lips! except better and shinier! It's really moisturizing too. I also got Eastend Snob, but it is a little whiteish/shimmery for my taste. I got the new foundation also after trying the sample from the new vogue.. it was a big trip to walgreens!

I got a tube of this for christmas last year. I can't wear this as the scent is just too strong. it's a very sweet scent, almost like confectionary with a hint of citrus.

in terms of the colour and wear - it's great. if you don't mind the scent it'd be fine.

I just bought Snog and I really like the color and wear. The grapefruity smell/flavor has disappeared after a short time but the gloss is still there. I usually wear NARS Foul Play and I like this just as much.
