CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Mascara Review

I have been caught up with the lash vibrator trend that I have been ignoring the new drugstore mascara offerings. This new CoverGirl mascara caught my eye due to the promise of eye brightening benefits. Eyelights come in a variety of shades to make your eye color "pop". I am all about trying to make my brown eyes look less....brown.
So...I grabbed the mascara for the blue eye folks.
It is called Black Sapphire. I loved the name and the blue steel shade just looked so new and fresh.

This might have been a poor choice for me. My lashes are black so the color does not show up very well. There was no eye brightening or eye popping movement. I can report that the rubber lash wand resists clumps and delivers on great separation and volume. Curl action is just fair.

Brown eyed girls can choose Black Pearl. This looks like a deep black metallic color.
Hazel eyes have a mascara shade called Black Gold while the gals with green peepers have a shade called Black Ruby. It looks like a plum metal.

It is currently available at your local drugstore counter.
If you have tried this mascara let us know what you think in the comments.

Thanks for this post! I have hazel eyes and the color for hazel sounds really pretty.

lol I think the idea of these was to enhance your natural eye color. Nothing will make brown eyes look un-brown (except maybe contacts) but you can make them look like a prettier brown. I haven't tried these, I usually get enough eye "popping" action with colored eyeshadow.

I grabbed this at Target and am so far loving it. I think the "light up your eyes" quality only works if you match your eye color correctly. I picked up the Black Gold for my Hazel eyes and it really does pop them. I barely needed any other makeup! The mascara is a nice formula too.

I bought it a few days ago and love it. It really makes my eyes pop. I think the trick is picking the mascara designed specifically for your eye color. It makes my eyes look bigger and the mascara really lengthens and does not clump at all. I think this is a must for anyone's mascara collection!

I couldn't wait to buy this and over the weekend I bought "Black Pearl". I'm so disappointed because it looks like regular black mascara and now I wish I would have bought the "Black Gold" instead. I must say though, that the mascara quality is good and doesn't clump. I can't see any highlights or color differences though.

I also try and make my brown eyes pop - but I have fair eyelashes so maybe the blue would work. I've been thinking of Benefits bad girl plum mascara too...perhaps coloured eyeliner would work best? I've started using navy Smashbox liner to line the bottom of my eyes in hopes that my eyes will look less red in the moring but...so far my tired eyes are beyond repair!

PS love the blog! I'm having a fashion predicament at the moment so if you could stop by my blog and give me your opinion it would be much appreciated!

I will never again use a mascara that doesn't have one of these sorts of wands. So love.

This mascara worked great! I tried the one for hazel eyes. I love the shimmer in it and I think it brought the gold out of my eyes more. This also is great for both length and volume. The only downside was that it that takes a couple of coats to get the results I was looking for. Overall I would recommend this product. Here are a couple of pictures of my eyes with this mascara.

Love this mascara! I've been buying all the expensive, dep't store ones and I overheard two flight attendants talking one day about this great new mascara, so i had to try it. I have blue eyes and I think the mascara is just right for day: not clumpy, nice length, but most important is that it never ran or smudged under my eyes all day! Not even Chanel or Dior mascaras that I've tried can deliver on that! So, yes, I recommend this. Those 2 flight attendants were right!
