Kissing Asphalt

I Am Pavement Bound
(lyrics The Go Go's)

MAC's Asphalt Flower is a fragrance from the Trend 2009 collection. I believe this is a reissue from a previous collection. It is a dirty violet with ylang and buttery iris petals. The drydown is a powdery cloud of incense, patch and vanilla. The scent comes in a whippet slender bottle with a roller ball applicator.

Violet fragrances are usually ladylike and slightly prim. MAC managed to twist the violet into something quite wicked. Cavewoman from Makeupalley stated that it had a very downtown vibe. That description nailed it. It is a modern libertine, rakish fragrance.
I might be far from being a libertine due to age and opportunity.
But I want to be bad.
It retails for $20 and it is currently at your local MAC counter.

Disclaimer: I purchased this fragrance at my local MAC counter.
It was love at first sniff.

I'm still searching for a new scent. I'll have to give this a sniff when I'm in Nordstrom's next.

Very interesting! I don't think I've had the pleasure of smelling a wicked, twisted perfume. This definitely revs up the imagination!

I bought this and love it, also love the price. It's a great no-brainer violet, slightly more complex than your average violet, with typical MAC lasting power.

Am I wrong or was this scent issued years ago, when MAC first entered into the perfume world with a set of perfumed oils? I swear I owned this perfume in a little oil vial.

This scent is delicious- a modern violet, quite lovely, with surprising lasting power. Love the portable bottle! I can see this being a neat masculine as well.

MAC has an interesting take on violet, as in their Hue Violetrix (discontinued. Love it. Agree with Becca above- "a no brainer"! We love those :)

@3xasif... Yes you are remembering correctly!!! I owned this scent in 1999 and when they stopped making it I was crushed. Instant people magnate. It came in a vile of 3 back then, and I would put a drop in my bath oil and it would have my entire house smelling beautifully. I hope the new version is exactly the same.
