Pretty Woman Joins Lancome Family
The Julia Roberts scoop is hitting the blogs this morning. She has joined the Lancome family.
This is a very BIG deal considering Julia has been pursued by beauty companies for YEARS.
“By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time,” says Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International. “Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible"
That sublime smile can sell a gazillion lipsticks.
Lancome is a damn genius.

This is not great news to me. I don't know what it is, but Julia Roberts has never appealed to me.
I'm cool with that decision...I loved her in Erin Brokovich and Pretty Woman, so cool beans.

It is that 8 mile smile. It is blinding and radiates such happiness. All they have to do is throw her in a gown, with her hair wild and tousled, and laughing in the Paris streets. Instant sales.
I would also like to see them snatch up Leighton Meester. That skin!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not personally a huge fan of JR, but I agree that it's a smart move for Lancome. She gives so few interviews and endorses so few products that she still feels like a "catch" and adds luster to the brand!
Julia hasn't had a movie hit in a long time. I think this is why she finally caved. I know almost as many people who dislike her as like her, so who knows if this'll be a good plan for Lancome.
I can not say I was a huge fan either. I worshipped at the Sherilyn Fenn(BTW: She tweets!) altar.
I think Julia still has massive star appeal and will inspire sales. She is a charm monster. No one will be able to resist that laugh. It should be trademarked.
The husband stealin' was what got me annoyed--the custom t shirt made to mock his wife, etc. Last year she did an Allure cover story and seemed pretty obnoxious. I agree with the posters who said that this might not be the smartest move for Lancome. I don't think the public cares about her now. She can't sell a movie anymore, so this is the next step.
I've never liked her, never will. Won't buy any Lancôme stuff while she's being the face for the house.
