2nd day of fragrance challenge:
I was inspired by Mireille's posts at http://cestchic.blogspot.com/ and grabbed my sample of Ormonde Jayne's Isfahan.
The notes are bergamot, vetiver, moss, lime oil, pink pepper, jasmine and cedar. It reminds me of Barbara Bui with an extra jolt. It is full bottle worthy.
The bad thing about Ormonde Jayne is that I adore and covet all her scents. Picking just one fragrance per order is a challenge.
Please share your fragrance of the day in the comments. Inspire some lemmings and let us know if it is a Holy grail scent.

She makes me want to try it even more!

My scent of the day started out as a mystery. I have no idea why I reached for Miracle by Lancome. I usually only wear this in warm weather. But I think *it* reached for *me* and so I sprayed.
A few minutes later I went into the dining room to get some greeting cards from my stationery drawer in my china cabinet. I had a box of cards I'd recently purchased, sitting on top of the cabinet, and I reached for those too. There, behind the cards, and in front of a statue of Our Lady Of Fatima (she lights up!) and a silver replica of the spire at the top of the Chrysler Building, were the two wristwatches I had "lost" last August! Now believe me when I tell you this is a miracle. I've gone to that cabinet a hundred times during the missing watch period.
Now I know why my Miracle fragrance leaped into my hand this morning! Thanks, St. Anthony!
My scent of the day is also my HG scent, but I only wear it on special occasioins. It is Ormonde Jayne's Ormonde (for women). Today on me it smells sappy and resinous, soft, a bit sharp and grassy, and velvety. I love the way the jasmine and violet seem blend so smoothly with the black hemlock, and the velvet texture of the amber base. The scent makes me think of Manet's Olympe and his woman behind the bar at the Follies Bergere-- all black and purple and elegant and slightly risque and 19th century.
P: You were rewarded for being good.
Now...where's my reward...*makes grabby hands at the sky*
(I am glad that you have found your watches. I know you were sick at the tought of losing them! Huge hugs!)
Anon: I love Ormonde!
I always get compliments when I wear that one. It is so incredible. It is my personal favorite from the whole line. I would love a candle. Have you tried any of her candles? How is the throw?
I got a sample of Guerlain Metallica today. I'm so loving it! Annie, I had just reordered Guet apens!! Thank you again for letting me try it!!
aw Annie thanks so much for the call-out! *hugs*
I'm stunned about the watches. I remember how distraught P was ... and I believe in miracles. also: today I wore another wonderful OJ, Ta'if. And I am sure it brought me luck. xoxo
