This upcoming week Blogdorf is going to be discussing compacts. From vintage Estee Lauder to the compacts at your local Sephora. This little gem of a compact is owned by Cavewoman. Cavewoman has a very lovely compact collection that she has agreed to share with us. It is hard to choose a favorite but I will go with her Lauder Zodiac compact. Which one is her pride and joy? Tune in to find out.
There is a mascara wrap up coming. The wrap up is harder than I thought. Some reviewers left out ratings so it makes it a little difficult. I promise it will come soon.
I am in love with a coat in the June issue of Lucky. Turn to page 32. It is by Edward An. It is mindblowing. It is perfect.
Other pieces I loved in Lucky:
pg 84 Tocca Caterina jacket on jewelry designer Mengly Hernandez
pg 100 mention of a soap called LCDP Savon de Marseille Ylang Noir Pur $23. It is a mixture of ylang-ylang, wood and leather. Anyone try this?
page 106 The beauty closet mentioned Covergirl's Lash Exact(which received high ratings during the mascara madness month) and L'Occitane's Green Tea and Jasmine sugar cubes for the bath. I am loving the scent but have not tried the cubes.
page 137 linen trench for $60 at Laredoute.com
page 139 silk jersey wrap top $271 by Development. This is really lovely and most likely will sell out.

Annie, I hope all the photos turn out as good as this one!
This little compact contains a pretty shimmer powder. It was a limited edition around the holidays. No one does compacts as beautifully as Lauder.
When I saw the Edward An coat in Lucky, I thought of you!
They turned out great!
)))P(((
To everyone: Patti took the pictures. She is the offical photographer at Blogdorf. She is my Irving Penn.
That coat will haunt my dreams!
I was so longing for the turquoise blue mirror compact in the Tom Ford collection in the retro packaging. Sigh, sigh.
Ooh, I can't wait to see more of those compacts. Cavewoman's collection must be amazing.
Oh and I know I'm missing a rating from my mascara post so I'll add that in. If I can do anything to help you with that post, please let me know. I'd love to help.
Annie, to even speak the name Penn in my presence! That is the biggest compliment! Thank you!
Tania, the Tom Ford compact is cute but not purchase worthy to me.
Carla, I do have a pretty nice collection. Watch for Annie to post the photo of my very first compact. It's Revlon. It is 45 years old.
Patti Penn: Which one is the Revlon?
Email me!
tbone: I have the lipgloss compact. I love it!
carla: Thanks for the offer! I have no good ideas. If you have any ideas that would be great. A graph would be out of the question. I am thinking that a best and worst list would be the most simple route to go.
My favorite compact is Lola's pressed powder one. First, it is rather sturdy, and I've dropped it too often with no ill effects. Second, the powder is my favorite pressed powder because it's so lightweight, non-cakey, and needs only an evening touch-up ever. Third, have you seen them?! They are a sexy shade of boudoir red, and so durned purty. The mirror inside is a nice sturdy one, too. I am a Lola addict though, so perhaps take my rec. with a grain of salt?
I'm just a sucker for turquoise. I would buy the whole Tom Ford retro collection if I could. And an extra bottle of Azurée body oil. And then I would steal my best friend's gigantic Persian turquoise jewels and prance around a verandah drinking martinis.
Katie: I have never seen Lola!
I will have to check it out the next time we go to the NYC Sephora.
Your recs are always written down and taken to heart. You have excellent taste my friend.
tbone: It is really good. Really good.
