well. i thought Stockard Channing looked good, but i have a soft spot for her. same with Melanie Lynskey, who i've loved since Heavenly Creatures and i'm so glad to see her as pretty as she really is. also same with Alfre Woodard, who i thought looked gorgeous.

Debra Messing is too pale for white.

Hugh Laurie looks so much better as he gets older, and the bowtie was a good touch.

hated Ellen Pompeo's makeup, adored her dress. would've looked better on me. ;)

and what was up with Tyra's eyelashes?? they looked like they were about to walk off her face!

finally, Helen Mirren always looks like the picture of elegance to me.

Agree with Risa. Hugh Laurie looks divine. Totally steals the scene from the gowns with the notable exception of Katherine Heigl, who has never looked better.

I don't know if you're still doing the Rock the Lip Gloss challenge, but I have a candidate for you. Sugar lip glosses are among my favorites. They stay on for a long time, aren't too expensive (about $10) and there is a fairly good range of choices. Also, they have a slightly sweet taste, hence the name. Thought you might like to check them out.

I loved Stockard's choice of jewelry. She always looks appropriate and put together. She never looks styled either. She always looks like she grabbed the dress and jewels from her closet. That is the way I would want to look.

Debra is on some type of downward fashion spiral. The dress was too ordinary for her. Plus...it was not flattering on her new shape.

I love Hugh. He is dapper.

Ellen looked harsh with the hair and makeup. The dress would have looked 100 times better on you.

Her boobs are an issue for her. I think she has no idea how to house them.

griffie: I thought that Helen looked lovely but thought the necklace was not modern & light enough. I would have loved to have seen something more delicate. Callista's best accessory was Han Solo.
I think Ellen needs to hire Katherine H's stylist.

Leigh: LOVE the photos in your myspace. Just gorgeous pics. Just wow.
I have never tried any sugar products. I will have to check them out the next time I visit Sephora.

I loved Hargitay the best. The perfect dress in the most stunning color, she looked amazing.
Pompeo gets the worst-dressed vote from me. She was grabbing the back of that dress as she walked. It looked heavy and hot, and she couldn't walk in it.

LOL at "no idea how to house the boobs." Paltrow still has the same problem. There seems to be some denial going on there.

Calista looks ravishing. The dress is not especially exciting but it is perfectly chosen and fits wonderfully.

I think Pompeo is a great-looking woman but there is no defending this look.

Patti: This is the 2nd dress that has not fit her correctly. She is very thin but with breasts that are not man made. No one seems to know how to dress her. This dress was so awful that I hope a PR person steps in and takes care of her. She needs guidance.

Campase: I think that designers send over true size 2's...and there is no room for serious breasts in a size 2 dress.
Now Paltrow....she is notorious for wearing clothes that do not fit. Every time someone lists that pink dress as a great oscar gown....my head starts to ache.

Man, I really hate that purple thing. It's like she said, I'll have what the couch is wearing.

Helen Mirren looks as ridiculously lovely as ever. A new Prime Suspect season is going to be on PBS this fall! Yay!

Helen Mirren--Loved it! Hope I look that good when I'm her age.

Debra Messing--I don't know. I didn't hate the dress. I wasn't crazy about the bottom of it, but other than that it was fine.

Stockard Channing--Amazing, but I think she pretty much always looks great.

Megan Mullally (no one else mentioned her, so I feel I have to!)--I loved this dress. The color was amazing and the fit was very flattering.

Let me try spelling Callista Flockhart's name properly this time.

Helen Mirren looks gorgeous! Ooh, there's more Prime Suspect? She's brilliant on that show.

Callista Flockhart looks great too. I love the black dress.
