Rock the Gloss Challenge for September 14th 2006:
I am wearing Chanel's glossimer in Crystal Blue. It is a long discontinued shimmery blue color. At one time this was my holy grail gloss. I hunted down this last tube in China. I am less passionate about it now. I rarely reach for it.
I am wearing it over Nars Miss Sadie.
What is your lippie today?
What lippie do you rarely reach for?

Oh, stupid stupid Blogger. I switched to Beta and now can't comment using my account! Today I'm wearing Chantecaille Amande, which I realized recently is a much more flattering replacement for a lippie I used to wear every day about ten years ago, Prescriptives Avant Garde. I still have my third tube (I loved it that much), but I don't wear it anymore because I looked in the mirror one day and realized...this stuff looks awful on me!

Nars Cruella + Revlon Superlustrous gloss in Cherries in the Glow.
I rarely reach for a number of lippies, for a number of reasons:
1 - Nars Babe, because a bright coral red gloss only looks good on me if I have a deep tan
2 - Smashbox gloss, because the honey in it smells strongly like pee
3 - Iman gloss - too liquidy and the color I picked is totally wrong for me
4 - Chanel Pretty lipstick - a great deep blue-based pink, but it never goes with my outfit
The list goes on.
Neutrogena Pure--when I work at hospitals I go for the lip balm. easy to stash in pockets.
All my lipsticks make it into the rotation; my Laura Mercier palette has been in the on-deck circle for quite sometime. Colors are a little too dark for me and the smell is offputting sometimes.
cheers, sara
Today I'm wearing my new Viva Glam VI lipstick and gloss- I'm absolutely in love with these colors. Perfect plummy berry for fall, and I'll wear the gloss year round- and best of all, since it's Viva Glam, they're permanent! Finally, a permanent MAC color that I like!
Skipping the lipstick and going straight for the gloss today--Bourjois' Effet 3D High Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Angelic 5, one of my favorites!
The first lipstick I ever bought, jane's Kind-Of Carob (a matte darker nude color) I tend to avoid. I loved it when I was younger, and bought three or four tubes of it, but I'm not loving it as much now. One color I do love is Revlon's Vixen 74, a great dark berry, almost purple. However, it smells like soap to me, and I can't get rid of the feeling that I'm putting on soap....weird, I know!
i reach for:
carmex
i rarely reach for:
my $13 Origins Once Upon a Shine in sheer ruby
it's really a shame that my origins lipgloss is going to waste. the truth is that i only look good in pale or barely there lipgloss. its very sad. i look ridiculous in red lipgloss. terrible.
Today was Prescriptives in Spice. I did however try a sample of P.T. Roth "Lips to Die For" and it was insane!! My lips were burning for two hours, it was overkill. So note to self: NO MORE LIP PLUMPER, love what you've got.
I have like 60 Loreal CJ's and some of them I can't wear because they have a bad smell like Wendy's Chili. And have a couple of Smashbox l/gs that none look right on me. I got them in those sets that they do every so often.
