Breaking Beauty News via January's Vogue:

Cavewoman spotted the blurb about another limited edition Lancome lipstick created by Gucci Westman.

It will be called Proenza Pink.

They say it will be available in March in "limited numbers" at Neiman Marcus.

They are pulling our chains. You know these will be sold out within a day. I am starting to think that limited numbers means a bakers dozen.

Obviously Lancome did not listen to me when I wrote to them and told them to at least back up their incredible publicity with a few products! I am sure this new lipstick will get the same kind of press that the Behnaz did.

Hey Lancome! We like you but don't push us too far. Serious product junkies can be fickle, you know!

Lucky for me I don't wear Reds like benaz's or pinks like the one shown. when they do a LE beige, copper, burgundy or such, then we'll have to talk.
Good Luck ladies, and Have a VERY Merry Christmas

Patti's right--It's not a product release if the product isn't meaningfully available for sale. It's one thing if the product is sold out in a few days because it's popular (e.g., MAC), but a completely different matter if the product is only made for a very few. I understand a limited release for a hand-crafted product like some handbags or jewelry--but for a lipstick I do find this a bit too elitist for my taste. There are plenty of other lines that LIKE the customers that provide them with the volume they NEED to stay in business.

It's a ridiculous ploy/strategy--getting potential customers all jacked up over products they aren't likely to ever see IRL much less be able to buy. I wish Lancome would have listened to Patti!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a hopeful joyeous New Year! Sara

Darling Annie, you could pull off that color, but I still do not care for it.

Merry Christmas to you, dear. Thank you for giving us all this beautiful little corner of the Web. You have no idea how much I love to come here.

anon: That will be the lipstick.
I think this will be difficult to wear for most people. I think I might pass on it...but who is to say.
I change my mind daily.
