None of them. Not even Princess Grace could wear that halo braid well. it's a horrible hairdo and one that Sienna should have known better than to attempt at a red carpet event.
I agree with Melanie. With the exception on perhaps Shirley Temple and other little girls, no grown woman should be caught dead wearing her hair like that.
I am a woman of color, and let me tell you that if I were to wear my hair like that, I would look like a house servant. That's not a becoming look.
Shirley Temple in Heidi is the only one who can get away with it. I really don't know what Sienna Miller was thinking when she walked out of her limo looking like that. Sad.
Oh that pic of Princesses Diana and Grace. Memories. That was Diana's first big outing as the future Princess and her first fashion test, the dress caused a bit of a ruckus when the low cut front accidentally showed " a rosebud". anyway, this is a not great hair style, but really if Grace couldn't pull it off who could.
side note- in these Globe posts , so many have said how thin these girls are and how nice it was to see real size women doing well. well one step forward... on Joan Rivers TVguide show, they dished on Geena Davis' not so great dress, and then Joan proclaimed- who cares about her anyway she's a fatty. Sad, really sad.
Don't like this hairstyle on anyone, but nowhere have I seen or heard a comment about an even more serious failure by Miss Miller. That face!!!! The only explanation I can think of is that she rode her bike 50 miles to the awards in 100 degree heat. That would account for the shiny, sweaty looking skin and the flyaway hair parts. Ugh, the skin just makes me shudder.....
This is completely unrelated, but if anyone wants a bottle of Chanel's Black Satin, go to nordstrom.com right now and order yours. I'm in the grip of insomnia and in cruising Nordstrom, I happened across Black Satin on the nail polish page, so I bought one. Just a heads-up.
I am astonished, but Kate Moss actually looks pretty good here.
Fine little example of synchronicity: at my blog, I have a picture of Loretta Young wearing this exact hairstyle. Great minds and all that kinda thing.
Anonymous, the last picture is that of Yulia Timoshenko, a powerful Ukrainian politician.
I must be the only person on earth who likes that style: it suits blondes; it frames the face in a very attractive way, imo, and I like it on Sienna Miller.
There is a difference between that hairstyle and the one 'suffered' by Carrie Fisher in those silly films. She looked as if she had headphones made of hair on her ears. I hate that.

Don't forget Princess Leia's do in The Empire Strikes Back! (she's tied with Iulia as my number one...)
I love the Carmen Kass photo (3rd from top. I'm not a Sienna fan--no great acting chops and her various looks seem a tad contrived....
cheers, sara

That photo of Carmen is the best shot of her ever, I have always loved it.

Everyone but Sienna is pulling it off in my opinion!
please excuse my ignorance, but who is the last picture of?
i think Kate is the only one who makes it elegant and chic.
ps whowhatwear.com did an article raving about this style.
Carmen Kass in the Narcisco Rodriguiz perfume ad.
