Pretty in Proenza Pink

Andie, hon.

Listen, its after 7:00

Don't waste good lip gloss. (quote from Pretty in Pink)

Northeast Ohio got pounded by a huge snow fall. My office was actually closed due to the weather. This was huge considering that my office never closes for anything. As I spent my day lollygagging and celebrating my blogger anniversary, a package arrived from Lancome.
It was the Proenza Pink lipstick.
This is the 2nd Pout-a-Porter lippie.

Description from the Lancome site: Lancôme’s Le Rouge Absolu in Proenza Pink was created exclusively for the celebrated design duo Proenza Schouler. This must-have lipstick was inspired by the milky pink shade worn by all the models in Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2007 runway presentation. In addition to smoother, fuller and absolutely replenished lips, this advanced lip color provides 6-hour care with continuous moisture and protective Vitamin E. Features plumping polymer and non-feathering color to define and reshape lips.

This is summer in a lipstick tube. The color is an intense milky pink. It is chock full of pretty without any shimmer or opalescence. I suppose I should have saved this lippie for the first day of summer. Instead I jumped the gun and wore it today. I decided to go full throttle summer. I wore my Estee Lauder's Amber Bronzer with my new eye/cheek palette called Color Intrigue from Elizabeth Arden. My fragrance is Bond's Fire Island.
I am all summery in the midst of a foot of snow and artic temperatures.

Grab this lippie while you can. These limited edition lipsticks go fast.
Get on the waiting list at Neiman Marcus, the Lancome boutiques or my favorite place Bergdorf Goodman.
Bergdorf Goodman's number is 1.800.558.1855
It is also available online at Lancome-usa.com

What do you really think of this shade? I think that it will be pretty but i am afraid of it looking odd...is this something you could easily wear to work?

Hi Anon-

I am wearing it to work today but it is not an easy color to wear. This is a very intense pretty pale pink. It will look amazing in the summer with a tan and less clothes.
HTH
I wore this layered with my Chanel Glossimer in Wonderland. It looks very pretty. I am going to test it on friday with my Chanel Crystal Blue glossimer to see what happens.

Any day with a Pretty in Pink reference is a good one. Congrats on your anniversary as well Annie! I wish I could pull off this color, but I think I'm too olive for something that opaque. Keep the new product updates coming.

I need to restock my make-up sooo badly. I'll definitely keep this in mind! Sounds like an easy wasy to brighten up a bit.

Happy Anniversary to you!

I just can't feel the love for this one. I know they want us to want it by making it limited edition, but...zinc pink didn't look good back when Revlon made it and I wore it in the 80s in junior high, and it doesn't look good now just 'cause it's Lancome and Proenza.

Just say no, ladies! Demand flattering makeup that is available on a regular basis! Limited editions of fugly colors are an evil marketing ploy!

I just want to see someone's pic with it on....someone everyday, not a made up model. Are there any pics out there that anyone knows off?

Maggie: This lippie might be more difficult to wear. Most people might shy away from its boldness. This is not a traditional pink by any means. Zinc Pink(or milky pink) is a pretty accurate description. It is a pale color...that is very bright and intense. It might not work on all people. I was blessed that it worked on me.
I think it will be very fetching in the summer months. It will look amazing with white lace dresses and linen shifts. I also think it will look wonderful with my favorite yellow coat.

Everyone: The one we wore in the 80's had more white or sometimes blue in it. This is straight up pink. No shimmer. No opal.

Let me know what you think when you get it!

Anon: I am having trouble with my camera. I lost my disc so I have been unable to upload pictures. I will try to fix this soon.

how are you getting the color to stay on??? mine fades off pretty quick because its too moisturizing! who would have thought, a lipstick that is too good for you!

regular girl wearing the shade? see the article in the March Elle with Jess on the cover

The beauty editor's article with Gucci Westman-Neville

I am getting my tube from NM during their beauty event. Will be exactly like my long ago DVF lipstick from high school... can I pull it off? time will tell... definitely will wear it with bronzer -- but i do own the EA Color Intrique like Anniey so will give that a shot as well.

Looking forward to reading more comments! Dena

Mine is coming in the mail hopefully today. I am pretty light-skinned, though. So, keeping in mind that I don't tan (because I burn instead), what way would you suggest that I wear it. (Ex: Dark eyes, what color lipgloss over it, etc.)

Thanks,
Chelsea
