"But for anyone who saw John Galliano's heart- stopping haute couture based on Madama Butterfly, this ready-to-wear version looked as if the heroine of Puccini's opera had met a fate worse than her death: She had been married off to a wealthy lord who insisted that she show off his bucks in her clothes." That green coat is so beautiful that it literally took my breath away! I haven't always been a fan of Galliano, but this collection is stunning. Not his usual runway-as-art, but totally wearable and I love that!
The review is funny, but 100% dead wrong. I think this collection is heart-stoppingly beautiful.
Patti: I fell for that coat instantly.
It was a beautiful collection.
F: It was so wonderful to see you last weekend!! Just had to say that. I thought the comment was fairly harsh too. I am a big Galliano fan so I am always pleased...even when it is not that good.
Oh, these are GORGEOUS! I need that lightning-bolt dress, minus the hat. Everything is so original. Galliano can be so over the top but he IS an artist. This is a wonderful collection.
