Spring brings out a yearning for soft creme polishes within me after a Fall and Winter filled with vampy, shimmery, saturated nail colors. This Spring I toyed with some sheer and sparkly pinks, but I was truly on the hunt for one particular shade – Tiffany & Co. blue. I dreamed of a crisp white button-fronedt cotton shirt with a popped collar and chunky turquoise necklace to make it suitable for the office. I also imagined it with a black outfit and bold silver jewelry. I knew I could work a Tiffany blue polish. So, I began looking. There were many lovely light blue shades, but most were a shimmer or a frost. I queried other collectors and had some recommendations, but they were either too light or too green. So, I narrowed it down to 3 polishes: China Glaze Moody Blue, Color Club Blue Light, and Color Club All In.

I looked at some photographs and nail wholesaler Web site swatches, and deduced that the proven formula of China Glaze would yield too light a result. So, I was going to have to go with a Color Club. This salon brand polish is used at my favorite pedicure salon and has been pushed by some of the online nail polish wholesalers as a free sample. And while I'd never used it on its own before, I did have great success in using Killer Curves (a blackened red creme) as a base color when I mixed my own shade. So, I went with the lighter of the two Color Club polishes and ordered Color Club Blue Light.

And let me tell you, this was no K-mart special. This polish has performed! It is the perfect Tiffany blue color in 2 coats.

I used it for Easter and it reminded me of little robin's eggs on my finger tips. It makes me smile every time I look at them. I can only imagine how much fun this color will be on my toes with some silvery flipflops I have that are adorned with chunks of turquoise. There is no doubt that this color will turn my toes into ten perfect little accessories for a long black jersey dress this Summer.

And the wearability factor on this polish is amazing. I used Orly Ridgefiller as a base coat, 2 coats of the Color Club Blue Light, and a top coat of Poshe and the polish looks perfect after 3 days of wear, including a day of Spring cleaning in which I washed down all of my woodwork and baseboards without gloves and basically used my nails as tools to clean with, and I still have no chips or even tip wear. This was my first Color Club manicure, but it will not be my last. I also bought Color Club Wild Child, which is a darker Jadeite green creme. You can find Color Club polishes at select nail salons or shop online at nail supply wholesalers like head2toebeauty.com and 8ty8beauty.com.

Very nice, Melanie! Did you know that Tiffany holds a trademark/copyright/ownership of that blue shade?
Another company that "owns" a color is Kodak, for the yellow color on their product boxes.

Thanks, Patti. I did not know that they trademarked that color, but it is synonymous with them. I'm in the midst of redoing my walk-in closet and the walls will be Tiffany blue with white trim like the ribbon on a box :^) I also got a blue and green crystal chandelier for in there at TJ Maxx for only $99.99. I still have a lot of work to do and have been culling bags of clothes that I am donating. But I think the end result will be fab. I just wish that I could snap my fingers and make it double the size of it!

Ok that color is FUN. and I think I want to move into melanie
s closet after she's done. I have a nice room but that sounds beautiful. A nice idea.

I once had an OPI polish that was a light blue, similar to that but not that same color. very robins egg blue. It was a cool color .

The new blues this season look great on. I hear there a few new ones from Zoya coming out too. Has anyone heard if they are available yet? I don't have acrylics and the zoya forumla is the only one that sticks to my little nails.
