Best Summer Purchase: Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist. I know, I know, it's water in a spray bottle, but I love the Bergamot one! It's going to be awesome for summer in my stuffy office.
Almost Had It: Vivienne Westwood dress at over half off, but I didn't let myself go to the sample sale (friends went and reported back).
Favorite Mascara This Week: Only used Flextencils so far. It's not bad.
First Makeup Item Owned: First one I remember is a perfume bottle with a big pink frosted glass bird as the top.

Discovery: Milani loose mineral foundation. I think it's the best MMU I've ever tried, and I have tried many!

Summer purchase: Cute turquoise canvas espadrilles at Payless for $3.
You Almost Had It: A beautiful BCBG dress. I'm not giving up on it yet!

1st Makeup Item: Tinkerbell lip gloss with a cute little attached mirror. I was probably about 8 years old. And tons of Avon Daisies Won't Tell dusting powder and hand cream.

fist makeup owned: I think it was a blush from Charles of the Ritz. When I was 11 (around 1978) I signed up for a makeup club where you receive a set of makeup every month from a different brand. My mother stopped that very quickly!

First makeup item: an Avon perfume in an atomizer shaped like a doll, and an Avon lip gloss in a strawberry-shaped compact
Love reading other people's responses. I will only answer the last question - as a cautionary tale. My first make-up item was liquid eyeliner (can't remember the brand) because, since I wasn't allowed to use make-up at that age (I was 16... but it was in 1964, in France), I had used a lash curler and pulled out all the lashes of one eyelid at once. I can't tell you how painful that was. I didn't say anything to my mother, went out, bought a black eyeliner and painted tiny dots all along the inside rim of the eyelid. No one - not even my best friend - noticed anything. The lashes grew back. Et voilà! Obviously, I have never got within ten yards of lash curlers since.
