Something New, Something Blue
By Melanie Parker
China Glaze has announce the Something Blue promotion, which features a
limited edition "For Audrey" nail polish. It is a Tiffany &
Co.-inspired
turquoise creme nail color. A few months ago, I wrote an article about
Color
Club Blue Light being a good match for the trademark Tiffany blue. It
will be
interesting to compare the two colors when For Audrey is released.

Annie as always a fab blog. I see that you tried some of our Boots brand products. Can you buy the Boots No.7 brand?. If yes then try the Protect & Protect Beauty Serum. It was featured on a Horizon TV program (like your Dateline) here in the UK, the program was about anti-aging creams. An impartial professor of gynaecology subjected a lot of creams to a series of independent tests, and this cream was found to repair photo=aged skin and improve fine wrinkles. Once the TV program was shown you could not buy this serum for love or money - it was selling for £100 on Ebay. I can't even give you a recommendation, as i've not been able to test it. So if you can get hold of a bottle then give it a go!.
i wonder if the audrey blue will be the next "it color" for nailpolish? hmmm...i love turquoise colors, wo i'd probably rock it
:) D
Hi Sita;
I have not tried it yet but from what I understand it is still available at various Target stores.
If I ever try it...I will certainly review it.
Shop: It will a great shade for summer. I think navy blue will be the color to beat this fall. However...I have not heard any info from Chanel. They usually have the inside track on this. LOL
No blue for Chanel this Fall. The LE colors announced are:
* Lotus Rouge (pink plum)
* Lily Beige (soft beige) — limited edition
* Magnolia Rose (soft rose) — limited edition
* Tulipe Noire (deep plum) — limited edition
They should be available in July.

Hmmm...wondering about that turquoise polish! "Tiffany blue" is actually a copyrighted color (like UPS brown and Starbucks green), generally meaning that other companies cannot employ it in logos for like businesses. Nail polish and jewelry are pretty different things to promote, but the fact that they're using Audrey and her quote from the movie makes me wonder whether Tiffany's lawyers will yank this from shelves. Just to be on the safe side, better buy this while you can!
Where can you get this nail polish??
I was wondering also about the copyright. Tiffany owns their signature color. Did you all know that Kodak owns their yellow color that they use on their product packaging? Back in my photo-student days, we referred to Kodak as The Great Yellow Mother.
hi! where could i buy the china glaze & color club brands? i have been looking for this brand can't seem to find it..all i got is essie & opi polishes. i better grab some before i left the country! HELP ME!
Anon- Try Head2ToeBeauty.com and 8ty8beauty.com, both sites carry all of those brands for less than retail.
Is the "Something Blue" color available now? Does anyone know? I must get it!
Hi Amy! It's not available just yet. It should be at online e-tailers and salons that carry China Glaze by the end of the month, though. Ulta gets a very limited selection of colors, so I doubt they will have it.
Also, Color Club and China Glaze are found at nail salons--check your yellow pages to find a store that sells the polishes, if you are not one to shop online (I can't imagine it, but I hear there are those who are afraid of using online payments).
Lastly, I am sure that the folks at China Glaze got permission to use the Tiffany Blue and Audrey Hepburn likenesses before the polish went to production. Don't have any fear that it will be pulled from the shelves. I'm just disappointed that they aren't promoting a portion of the sales to UNICEF or another one of the charities that Audrey donated her time and nenergy to during her lifetime.
It isn't an exact replica of the color, very close..but not EXACT.
I managed to get a few bottles ;)
it is a truly awesome color!
it has a very nice shine to it..and applies nicely w/ 2 coats (also dries SO fast!)
