What's the online beauty community like?

Kind of like a small family. I joined Makeup Alley (www.makeupalley.com) a few years ago, just to learn more about skin care and beauty. They started a polish board, which is one of the kindest communities I've found. We send gifts to each other and chat all the time --if I don't like something, I'll send it along to someone else who might. In some ways it's kind of weird, but it's great to know other people who share your passion.

Black nails were a huge hit last year. Do you see any new nail trends coming for fall?

I think red is going to be big. Like a really true red cream. The jewel tones, like navy, deep purple, dark green --which makes me so happy, I can't even stand it, I love green --will be big. Gunmetal gray instead of the black.

What's on your toes right now? Your fingers?

On my toes, it's blue. Zoya "Tart," a midtone shimmery blue from their Candy collection. I have two different colors on my fingers, alternating OPI Jasper Jade and Zoya Suvi. They look practically the same. I think only geeks like me would notice the difference.
