Not a corny supermodel song
I was delighted to see familiar faces on the Christian Dior runway. Linda Evangelista, Karen Mudler and Shalom Harlow prowling the runways made me think of the good old days. The days when I ran to the mail box to grab my Harper's Bazaar and Vogue issues.
The days that fashion made me breathless and excited.
I lost that feeling after Harpers lost Liz and Vogue got bitten by the socialite bug. I did not pay attention to the industry for a few years. I gave up my magazine subscriptions and stopped caring about models.
It was the fashion blogs that managed to warm my heart and get me interested again. I have been swooning and coveting ever since.
I am late with my fashion show recaps and posts.
I promise to start pumping them out by the end of the week.
I have a lot to say on Galliano and very little on Chanel.
What do you think so far?
What shows made you breathless and what shows left you cold?

I completely agree- Magazines don't cover the same content that they used to. I grew up loving the "supers" as muses to the art that we call fashion. Now I feel as though editors don't seek new talent they promote actresses that have since used the Mags to cover their movies and TV series.
I think new, un abashed and un-biased information regarding fashion and models are found on blogs and thats the way I like it.
BTW I loved Gaultier and Lacroix's couture shows.. alot like fairy tales.
I want everything from Valentino! Why couldn't I have been born rich and beautiful instead of just beautiful?? :P
His collection leaves me weak in the knees! *heavy sigh*
Lacroix: They were like fairy tales. Loved the crazy fabric crowns.
I just miss the collaborations between models and photographers. There was nothing like Linda with Steven M. They created magic.
PattyG: It was hollywood glam! Loved the smoky eyes!
Vera Wang: I loved the bold lip, and the use of black, brown, and grey neutral colors with some metallics thrown in.
Stella McCartney: I liked their bold black pieces.
I am sick to death of celebrities on the covers of fashion magazines. Give me Vogue, Harpers, Allure, and Elle in the days of the supermodels: Christy (who I idolized), Linda, Naomi, Cindy, Niki, Claudia, Tatijiana...even Shana Zadrick and Roberta Chirko.
I used to go to the fashion department at Purdue just to peruse the Italian and French Vogues in the fashion library. Now THAT was fashion. Not these no-talent skanks like Cameron Diaz and Julia Horseface.
