Caron Powder Puffs Gang

I visited NYC this weekend with Patti(MUA's Cavewoman), Ceil(aka Tussah)and Marianne(aka Koneko's Beauty Diary). We met up with the NYCers Angie(Twizler), Jessica(Stanzi), ChattyKathy(Kathy), Farran(aka Self Styled Siren), and Kristen(aka Beauty Addict). Our first stop was the Caron Boutique. We have been faithful shoppers with the store for years. Chattykathy is officially known as a Caron Ambassador. She has turned us all on to the joys of the fragrance, loose powders and makeup.

The store has moved from their previous location so it is slightly more difficult to visit. It is nestled in the PhytoUniverse salon at 715 Lexington Avenue with it's entrance on 58th Street. You step into the entrance of the salon and you spot out of the corner of your eye, the twinkling chandelier and the fragrance urns. The store is tiny and jammed packed with all the usual favorites from swan powder puffs to lay down bottles. It was wonderful to rediscover it again after all these years. I caved on Madame loose powder, an elegant loose powder compact(to house my La Mer powder)and a peach powder puff. I waffled on my powder puff decision. I originally gravitated toward the mint green, moved onto the peeps yellow and almost splurged on the magenta puff.
Instead...I chose the peach/apricot shade.
There was just something so girly and feminine about it.
I plan to photograph it soon so you can bask in it's loveliness.

Read the great review of the NYC Caron boutique on the blog Now Smell This written by one of our gang, Jessica.

Call the Caron store at 212-308-0270 and ask for Diane for all your Caron needs. She is beyond helpful and generous.

Must. Have. Puff. These are my fav photos of the year -- the trip to NYC beauty and fragrance! I only get to the city every few years now but will absolutely positively sleuth down Caron's new location.

Vive Caron! :)

Yes, there are other stores, here and there, that carry a few Caron fragrances... but the boutique in NYC (and the one in Paris, I suppose!) has *everything* and is a lovely experience, overall. :)

THANK YOU for the lovely review & pictures! The puffs are to die for, and the bottles and urns are so very lovely. It was the next best thing to a visit!

Giftgiver; these powder puffs make the perfect gift for many women: rare, precious and feminine... a woman powdering herself in front of her vanity is the archtypical image of feminine beauty.
Great idea.
