Marion Cotillard
Beauty Inspiration: “My inspiration was Marion's pearly white dress with hints of gold and silver. The intricate petal-like design reminded me of a flower. And of course, I was inspired by La Vie en Rose!" ( Makeup Artist, Angela Levin)
Beauty Tip: To give Marion a refined, ethereal look, Angela used the copper and pink-gold shadows from the MULTI-USE MAKEUP PALETTE in LUMIERE NATURELLE on her lids. She applied SHEER BRILLIANCE in SUNKISSED to Marion’s skin, giving her complexion a sheer sun-kissed glow. On her cheeks, Angela brushed on POWDER BLUSH in NARCISSE, a pale delicate pink. She finished the look with AQUALUMIERE SHEER COLOUR LIPSHINE in SOMOA, a copper-rose shade.

Verdict: I was on the fence until this morning. I just could not get over the whole Splash/Little Mermaid aspect. Today... I am warming up to it.

Beautiful face, beautiful makeup. I liked the dress more and more as the evening went on. At least it has some creativity to it! Maybe I'm just sick of Marchesa. ;)
This was one of my favorite looks of the evening and I'm delighted she won. cheers, sara
I love the way Marion looks, and am thrilled that she won. She was amazing as Edith Piaf, and she walked the red carpet with her elegance, beauty and grace. I also loved her acceptance speech, because her beauty came right from the heart. She was genuine and so thankful.
Marion looks stunning from head to toe, and her look is hands down my favorite of the evening!
I am warming up to the dress as well. Otherwise she looked fantastic. So fresh and pretty, and yes that big smile made it all the more better.
She looked so lovely in this rose petal dress. I couldn't help but think that it would have looked like a mermaid/Ariel if it was in another color. Your source photo looks much more mermaid to me. Good find!
I really liked her speech. Even though I was wanting Ellen Page to win, I was touched by how exhuberent and gracious Marion is.
she's incredibly beautiful and the dress was a lovely cut and color for her ... but the scales just screamed "gimmicky" to me. Dazzling woman but I would call the dress a very, very near miss.
What a beautiful woman she is!
I'm not nuts about the dress, but it was definitely red-carpet.

Love her, love the dress. I do, however, think Gaultier meant to be a tad ironic with this dress - fish scales (gorgeous, nonetheless) on a mermaid dress? So witty and French of him.
Anne Hathaway's dress was my favorite of the night. I love, love, love Marchesa. Thank goodness they don't design wedding gowns or I'd be breaking the bank right now for my upcoming ceremony...

I love, love, love her! Gorgeous makeup, stunning gown.
I thought this was a great dress, but yes, at first I was like, "What is going on???" It has a bit of whimsy to it, which is great. She's one to watch, for sure.
Loved the make-up and hair and kudos to her stylist for shunning both rouge and noir!
I thought she wore that dress really well - it was one of the few that wasn't somber and conservative. So many of the actresses now have been shamed by the Fashion Police into wearing the most basic boring outfits. It makes you wonder how with so many stylists and designers working on a look they can turn up in something that's not really inspired. Kudos to Marion and JPG
