Catching The Wave Late:
Neutrogena's Wave

I caved on The Wave during a shopping spree in Walgreens. It is hard to resist the call of the cosmetic wall.
The Wave came home with me due to a $2 manufacturer's coupon and the high recommendation from Melanie aka DQ2.

The Wave is a battery powered cleansing tool. It promises clear and smooth skin after one use. The vibrating action is supposed to loosen dirt deep in the pores.
The actual tool fits and grips easily in the hand. The kit comes with 2 packets of cleansing pads. The pads are dry but you can feel the soap formula on it. You run the pad under water to activate the foaming action. The suds are fair. I have yet to achieve the lather featured on the commercial.

It really does deliver baby smooth skin after just one use. I have sensitive skin so there was some alarming redness. I did not have this reaction with the second or third use. Dry patches were eliminated and my skin has undergone a marked improvement.

What do you think of the Wave? Is it a miracle or just hype?

I'm dying to try this. Is it better or worse than the Clarisonic?

I vote "hype" I got this after watching a commercial like a sucka and I didn't get the suds that the TV showed either. I used it once. I couldn't even tell you where in my house I put it I was so bored with it.

I bought it for my 17-year-old son and he loved it. I have trouble keeping him interested in skin care. The 13-year-old daughter tried it as well and she liked it too.

Eye4style, I tried the Wave before I bought my Clarisonic because I thought well, If I could get the same effect for $10.00 I would save a couple hundred. The truth is....no. The Clarisonic works with any cleanser not just the drying Neutrogena variety and the brush is a lot more exfoliating and a lot less gimicky than the vibration concept. The Clarisonic is rechargeable also it's like having a Sonicare toothbrush. In fact that is a good comparison. The wave is like a Crest Spin Brush for your skin whereas the Clarisonic is like the higher level investment that you will keep for a long time and is endorsed by dermatologists and facialists.

I've been curious about this wave ting since I first saw the commercial. I need something that'll deliver smooth skin and dight pimples or the occasional breakout...

It doesn't foam up on me like the commercials, and I have to take the pad off to get in around my nose, but I really do like the results of this little gizmo. I use it once a week, and it leaves my skin sfot and smooth with no redness or drying.

My only gripe is that it was hard to find replacement pads. Ulta finally started carrying them. I got my first batch at Nordstrom Rack, but they quickly sold out and my Target, Walgreen's, etc. only had the machine pack and not the refills.

It doesn't replace my Shiseido Pureness cleansing foam, but I do like the results :^)

Have it, like it. It gets rid of my dry spots. I wouldn't use it EVERY day, but it's good to use a couple times a week.

For $12 bucks, this little gadget works really well! I use a little dab of my regular facial cleanser on the pad, because I wasn't crazy about the cleanser that is built-in on those pads.

and hey if it doesn't work on your face you have a convenient travel vibrator!

I wonder how similar it is to the Neutrogena Rejuvenator System. I am sure the cleansing pads have a different type of product on them, but the device looks pretty similar.

Hi Annie. I can't wait to try Neutrogena's wave and peruse the shades of the new "Sinful" nail polish line at Walgreens.

I have not commented before but I just wanted to say that I adore your blog. I just decided it was finally time to say something...I have been a reader for about a year. I have to say that I loved the 40 days/night. I think I bought just about 20 of the 40 products that you recommended. I also just bought "the wave" and wished it was a little more of an intense scrubbing feelign but I have skin that is made of steel. I do like it, though and I also was using my own cleanser on it and love that even more. Thanks again for what you write. I seriously look forward to reading every day!:)

A lot of people are complaining about how the cleanser on it isn't that good.
I bought the Wave a few months ago, and I just stick the pad on it, and then put on whatever cleanser I normally use.
I use Clear and Clear Continuous Control Foam Cleanser, but I'm betting you can use any kind, and just have a better tool.
It really does work.
