The Concealer Chronicles
Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector
This concealer is no magic potion but it does hide imperfections with very little drying issues. It is a two sided beauty saber.
One side is a concealer wand while the other is a highlighter brush.
I loved the highlighting formula. It is a light cream with reflecting pearls of pigment. It adds a subtle opal sheen.
It was perfect to give a "smoke and mirrors effect" to my eye situation.
The concealer did what a good concealer is supposed to do. It hid discoloration.
This formula was not as moisturizing as the highlighter.
Overall I think it is a fair product.
It masked imperfections, added much needed radiance and did not dry the eye area in any excessive way.
It also did not make my heart flutter or take years off my age.

I *love* this concealer! I'm not a Maybelline fan, but this stuff is great. I've seen many other beauty blogs/magazines/etc. give positive reviews on this as well.
I LOVE this concealer too!I'm a make-up artist and a total product snob, but this Maybelline product is amazing. I don't like any of the other Maybelline products though. I read about the concealer in Paula Begoun's new book and went out and bought it. Can't beat the price!
I am not real impressed with this - the concealer doesn't cover blue circles and it migrates because it's kind of greasy. The highlighter is okay but not stupendous.
I am impressed with the Maybelline mineral concealer - great coverage, applies & blends easily, lasts well, looks natural.
I didn't like this concealer at all. The concealer is way too thin and it was difficult to apply evenly; it also settled in the fine lines under my eyes. I have no need for the highlighter and I was annoyed with how big the tube was.
I much preferred the old Age Rewind concealer, in a little tube and no brushes or applicators.
I've been seeking out a concealer to hide my undereye circles for months - tried lots of different products. I just bought this one recently- and I'm in love! I've been using it for a week, and it works fabulously - suitably moisturizing, no migration, etc. I'm in my late 20's though, so I don't have large creases to cover up, but it definitely seems to be working wonders for me!
I must be in the minority- I didn't care for it at all, at least the old version. I'm so satisfied with what I'm using now (Benefit Boi-ing for under eyes and MUFE Full Cover for face) I don't think I'll bother trying the new version either. But it's great that so many other people like it!
I have not tried this concealer, but for a good drugstore concealer that is not drying at all, but stays moist and doesn't sink into lines, I have to rave over the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy. No one is more surprised than I am over the quality of these Carmindy products.
Big rave for this concealer, and also the cream blush. And highest praise and HUGE RAVES for the liquid foundation, too. I found these at a CVS store, but not all CVS has the line right now.
I hate this concealer!! The "dark" was not dark at all...it looked super pale and ashy on my skin. It was drying and disgusting! I was highly disappointed as I love Maybelline products.
This pertains only to the concealer that I have purchased in the tube. Simply put, I dislike it. It doesn't have enough coverage for really dark undereye circles. The consistency was a bit too runny and oily. It did settle into lines, however.
The one that am I currently impressed with is Lancome's Effacernes. It's not perfect, but the least of all evils... I mean one of the best concealers I've tried.
What I enjoy immensely is your clever appropriation of Star Wars.
(I am an avid reader of your blog and you always deliver.
Thank you.)

i'm so glad to see a review on this. i've always wondered!
Highlighter at one end and concealer at the other--brilliant!
I'll keep an eye out for this next time at Sephora's :)
I still love this concealer! I use a darker more orange color on the blue/purple under the eye and than cover that in the color that matches the skintone. If you use the color concealer to match your skintone if you're lightskinned it makes your blue circles go green! (yellow doesn't cancel out blue, but orange does) I don't like to put thick pasty concealer under eyes but with two layers of transparent color it hides the blue!
I like this concealer, love the highlighter...but HATE the little sponge tip on the concealer applicator. It's so hard...not stiff...hard. It cut my skin one day. After that mishap I'm using a little brush and liking it much more. Still find myself using the highlighter much more than the concealer, though.
I tried a new concealer recently, and LOVED it. It is Dermablend's Smooth Indulgence. It isn't thick like the rest of their products. It has a great texture and stays in place. I have terribly bad dark circles, and this is the best thing I've tried since Estee Lauder's Double Wear (which is also excellent).
Concealer? no idea. Sorry. But you compared a double ended makeup product with my *other* love, Star Wars therefore, I must comment that you are a jewel amongst bloggers.
I LOVE this product! I got it after seeing an ad for it in Parenting. I go through it so quickly though that I have to buy 2 at once. I like that it takes virtually no time and looks fab.
I haven't used this one, but I've tried CG invisible, it's thick but not my shade, though it works well.
I love Jane's No Show concealer, aside from the smell, it last at least 6hrs on me, but then starts to show through. It's about 3$.
Loreal True Match concealer also rocks, it's 7$ and lasts me about 4 months a tube. It's light but does hide my scars and doesn't cake like Jane's.
