Island Hopping with Michael Kors

Michael Kors has released some tropical scents for the upcoming summer months.

Island Capri has opening notes of orange bigarade,Italian basil and bergamot. It is herb-ish with a dash of orange zest.

There are appearances of rose petals(quite strong and pretty), violets(did not detect), fig and jasmine. The drydown is a mixture of olive tree accord, white moss and musk. The drydown is light and linen fresh. Not woodsy at all.
I love how the perfumer chose specific notes to capture the regions. This is exactly what I imagine the coast of Italy to smell like. A mixture of figs, oranges and sand.

Fiji is strangely aquatic. The notes are Tiare flower, tropical petals and Polynesian waters. I am not sure what note makes a fragrance smell like water. It could be water lily or maybe some kind of linden.

Hawaii begins with notes of clementine and juicy orange fuse with neroli. The mid notes are hydroponic pineapple, orange flower, jasmine sambac and ginger lilies.
The neroli note is the standout. It is lush and full-bodied.
The drydown is amber and sandalwood.

Michael Kors Island FIJI, Island Hawaii and Island Capri will be available at Nordstorm this month. They retail for $60.00

I am very sorry to say that I could not handle Capri. It was very sweet and would not wash off! I guess you could say that if it's your cup of tea, it lasts forever :)

hydroponics are plants that grow in greenhouses, in the air (with nutrients instead of soil. don't ask me exactly how this works... lol)

hence my reaction! that's so random.
