You might have noticed that I have been MIA for a few days. I was one of hundreds of blogs that were labeled spam by the blogger robots.
I have been a long time fan of robots...but I am rethinking my stance.
I currently believe that all robots suck except Rosie from the Jetsons and R2D2.
Anyway...the loss of my blog got me thinking not just about robots but of my blogs future.
Besides going back to school to learn the proper use of grammar...what improvements or special features would you like to see on this blog?
What blog projects would you like to see tackled?
How do you really feel about advertising?
Speak now...or forever hold your peace.

I don't blame them.
I don't like the blogs that look like one big advertisement. It makes it tough to take the reviews seriously and believe they are unbiased. I understand they might be great blogs but that is my opinion on the whole ads subject.
other than that, keep doing what you are doing.
I love your blog and I try to read it daily. I would hate to see it all junked up with ads--it's so classy just the way it is. Screw the robots--what do they know anyways??
I'm not a huge fan of robots and honestly not a fan AT ALL of blogspot.
I love your blog and truth be told I'd still read it if you had ads, it would just be less pretty.
I love your blog the way it is! Perhaps a title for each post(only bc it always shows as "(title unknown)" in a blog reader), unless that screws with the advertiser free status.
Yours is such a unique blog, with a unique style - I'd hate to see it change.
You're my favorite beauty blogger, so I don't have any requests ;) As for advertisements, I think subtle colors/text and the fewer the better.
I loved Rosie so much as a little girl!! She was quite the fabulous little robot!
I like what you're doing currently, though labels would be nice!!
And as for ads... as long as they're blockable by my AdBlock in Firefox, I'm a happy camper :P All I ask is that you don't include advertising in your posts without telling us - I hate it when bloggers start reviewing for companies, churning out one rave review after another, even if they didn't like the product.
Keep on doing what you're doing, I'd say - Blogdorf Goodman doesn't have any flaws that I can see!
I love your drugstore sale summary....I check it out every week to get the best cosmetics for less... Thanks so much for the feature....it is my favorite!!
Other than than keep on bloggin' .....I love your style, with just a few ads....not too many.....
V :-)
An RSS feed! Please!
Just keep on with what you do! It's nice to see a truly free-flowing blog, with your beauty rants and raves and musings on fashion. If you do go down the ad route, can't say I blame you if there's money to be made, but please, just don't pack every spare inch with stuff that just isn't relevant, or dating stuff - things like that. You're one of the best because you don't pander to all the crap. And I love that you post a lot of quality , not once in a blue moon with sparse content like some blogs I could mention.
Boo! Bad robots! I love your blog as is, but if there is $$ to be made with ads I can't fault you for adding them...however some blogs (who shall remain nameless) have so many ads it's hard to believe the owners truth about the products she advertises...uh I mean reviews.
In the meantime I suggest you pick up a copy of "How To Survive a Robot Uprising: Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion" by Daniel H. Wilson at your local bookstore.
Keep up the excellent work!
I read your blog daily and love it as it is! However, maybe you could start tagging your posts! I find myself going back again and again to your Cult Beauty Product posts from this spring, and it would be great just to be able to click back and have them all in one handy place.
Thanks!
Thanks everyone for the comments including the robot-loving anon1.
Anon: What is exactly is a RSS feed? And which one should I get? I know this is a silly question...but I am not a techie.
Darth: I love you!!!!!
I would love to be able to contribute something to your blog in any way possible. I love it so much, I read it all the time. If you think you might ever need an ubergeek beauty product fiend, please let me know. I could always review LED lipglosses or something. :)
i love it as it is already. just add some tags, cause if i remember a great review of something i have to go back tons of pages.
don't do ads, well, maybe just 1 or 2, hehe. see The Sartorialist. He survived with minimal ads. =)
great job!
Hunniebunch
i love your blog! it's a daily read.
google ads seems to provide a decent income. i also think beauty addict's ads are not too bad.
what does bother me is that i read so many beauty blogs, i can tell exactly what company is sending samples over the week. while i don't mind bloggers testing out samples they have received - i just wish it wasn't so obvious - or that it was clearly labeled.
i review [a few] things on my blog and would love to have them for free! but i think i would like that mentioned as well. full disclosure kind of thing.
also - i love your "what i am wearing" features. surveys are fun!
I would like to see better labels for each post. Sometimes, I want to go back to look for a specific product you've reviewed, but I don't remember the date. I have to scroll through a ton of back posts to find it. It would be easier if you had labels for product (foundation, eye shadow, lippie) or brand (MAC, La Mer) or both.
I love your blog and I too read it everyday. It is great the way it is except for maybe the tags.
You are awesome!
More perfume reviews please!!! I think you used to do reports on trips to Marshall's and TJ Maxx. That would be great again. You also had posts about Anthropologie.
I absolutely love your blog :) It's the first one I check every morning when I get to work (heh). I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In other words, keep your blog as it is. You've done a fabulous job so far. No need to change anything.
As far as ads, I'm not a fan at all. Some are okay. But I don't want a blog that has more ads than a magazine. I don't visit a couple of blogs for that reason alone.
You already generate an RSS feed; it's automatic with blogspot.
My only requests are titles for the posts and labels/tags so I can find, say, all cult beauty posts or all MAC or mascara posts.
I adore your blog!
I don't mind ads on the sidebars. I do not want you to start taking bribes and feeling obligated to give glowing reviews to companies that give you extra freebies. I value your objective-ness.
One of my pet peeves is popup ads. Could you avoid those? Otherwise my mind has been conditioned to not even see ads.
I do always love the pictures you choose. Maybe you could use more pictures? Maybe you could take pictures of some of the products being used on yourself? I don't know. I love reading your blog.
I rarely comment but I read your blog every single day. I love your writing style and everything you review. I agree with others about tags...it would be super helpful. I don't blame you if you put up ads, but it's nice to come to your blog and only read content. I also love your drugstore deals. I check them every week and stock up on things I need when I see what sales are going on.
i agree with most of the posters. i wish i could click somewhere and look up all mac posts etc. other than that, i love your blog annie! if anything, please do more reviews because i love your review so much. i especially loved the 40 days of cult beauty products. that was amazing!!!!
annie, do what pleases you! And, if ads could compensate you in some way for the energy you've invested in this blog -- and the enjoyment you've given readers for years now -- go for it. xoxo
I'd say try to make your reviews less biased. sometimes t feel like i'm reading a press release rather than your honest opinion/reviews on products. It seems like your selling out.

As someone already said, Blogspot automatically provides you with an RSS feed, but yours appears to be deactivated or something; there's no link anywhere!
I put your blog on a par with the sartorialist. It is clean and feels a cut above the rest. You do deserve some financial gain for your efforts because I have certainly ran out tested and purchased after reading your reviews.
I suppose there are times when I want more musing about our obsession with beauty. Could we be, for example, a little more circumspect about how much we spend? Do I need yet another shade of taupe if I haven't used last season's?
Otherwise I enjoy your blog tremendously.
I love your site, I would not want to see many changes, except what other have mentioned about tags/categories. I especially like the 40 Days reviews, they have really helped me choose the right products.
Phooey on the "anonymous" snarky commenters, if they don't like reading your beauty blog no one is forcing them to do it! As for the commenter who said you seem "biased" and that you are "selling out", that is really ridiculous. You tell us what you love and what you don't, and we get to decide what products to try. You are just giving your opinion. Again, if they don't like what you have to say, they can stop visiting your site. As for me, I try to visit several times a week, daily when I have time, and I think you are doing just fine!
