Something wicked this way comes....
The fall collection for Smashbox is called Wicked Lovely. It is equal parts good and bad girl. The cheek colors are ultra-feminine, sweet and girly. The eye duos pack a shimmery smokey punch. I could not believe how good these looked. I am a fan of Smashbox's primer and powders but I have never paid attention to anything else. This is a collection that opened my mind. There is not a clunker in the entire collection. The standout product is a gloss called Sultry. It photographed slightly vampish but this borders on Gothic dark. Two of my friends tested this lippie. It appeared Chanel Vampish-like on one while on the other it went dark....and we are talking Marilyn Manson dark. I liked the effect, but it was nixed.
Which brings me to the dishing on the upcoming black gloss from Lancome.
I must have it even if it is unwearable.
Disclosure: I did not purchase this item. I tested it at my local Sephora.

I saw this collection on the Sephora site and wondered if it was good, thanks!
But Annie, I need to know about MAC Starflash eyeshadow in Smoke and Diamonds! It's a dirty taupe!
Sincerely,
Another Taupe Freak
OMG...I KNOW!
This shadow collection sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it this thursday?
Holy Shiz - if I did that black gloss I will look straight up like Winonna in Beetlejuice. NOT GOOD for a 30 year old.
However that first gloss is a must....

Is there a way to wear black lipgloss and not look goth?
MAC Starflash! I got the email today. I think it launches in stores Thursday, but I'm not sure. The collection is online with free shipping [if you use the code STARFLASH]. I must know about Smoke & Diamonds.
I am a little annoyed that they offer nailpolish with the LustreTwins collection as $$$$$yes does not have the same effect as the model's tips in the photo.
Of course I forgive them though.
=)
The Starflash collection was in Nordstroms yesterday, but there was a gaping hole where the Smoke and Diamonds eyeshadow was. It looks like it's either already gone, or someone took the tester. :)
Readers: I just heard that it has an Erika F vibe. Is that true?
I would love to wear a gloss like that, looking 'goth' is something that doesn't bother me! However, I fear it would make me look more 'gangster' than 'goth'. Sad. I'd love to try it out. I got the 'gangsta' vibe from my MAC Night Violet lipstick too :(
ARGH! I ordered Smoke & Diamonds online, I can't risk not having it. Because, what if it is THE ONE?
LOL When I read the line "Something wicked this way comes" I instantly thought of Harry Potter. Well technically I already had Harry Potter on the brain this morning after watching the trailer for the sixth film at least 6 times last night after it premiered online. Back to beauty, I saw this collection at Sephora, the cream liner thing was so much more wearable than it looked online. The black gloss is a bit much for me or everyday wear.
I guess the black is cool as concept makeup, but it's probably totally unflattering on anyone with tan/fair skin because yes, it will look goth. Not that I have an issue with goths themselves, other than that they scare the living crap out of me, but the look is just overall not really a good one for anybody. But how are super dark lips gangter, wtf?
*Blinks* Black lip gloss? I usually reserve the black lips for Halloween, and while I have seen plenty of lipsticks, I've never seen a gloss before. Could be interesting :)
I think the black gloss falls under "just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD."

Oh, I love that necklace!

@ Davina: No, there is no way to wear black lipgloss and not look goth! Sorry to have to break it to ya (and everyone else here who thinks it's possible).
That's odd, there's a recent YA book Wicked Lovely. Wonder if there's any connection.
(ps for those who like dark fantasy, it's a good read)
